Job description

ABOUT GMR MARKETING

We are the Experience Agency Making Unforgettable Stories Born of Humanity

NOT JUST EXPERIENTIAL. EXPERIENCE.

The lines have blurred. People live in the physical, digital, and social worlds all at once, and your brand experiences should do the same.

NOT JUST TELLING. MAKING.

The best stories are lived, not heard. Make an immersive world for people to explore so they can experience something they’ll never forget.

NOT JUST CONSUMERS. HUMANS.

It all starts with the human. If you want to make a lasting impact, look beyond the wallet to understand what motivates and inspires people.

As the VP, Olympic Consulting you will focus on hospitality, engagement and experience consulting, leading our Olympic & Paralympic clients to design strategic programs to maximize partnership assets and drive measurable business value. In your role, you will lead key accounts within the global event ecosystem, guiding integrated teams from experiential strategy through to final program reconciliation and serving as the primary senior client point of contact - having full ownership for global experience and hospitality deliverables and ensuring the highest standards are met.

You will oversee one or more accounts, will have one or more direct reports, and will guide teams through all steps of the planning and execution journey. You will be responsible for the overall health of assigned client accounts, serving as a strategic advisor, trusted thought partner, and hands-on leader who translates client objectives into effective strategies and executions by pushing bold creative thinking.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Olympic and Paralympic Strategy. You will lead and manage the development and execution of comprehensive end-to-end Olympic and Paralympic programs. You will serve as a strategic advisor with expertise in global event hospitality and brand experiences, but particularly the Olympic and Paralympic Movement, with experience activating complex, high-touch experiences. You will develop and present compelling client-facing proposals and presentations that tell clear, persuasive stories and demonstrate the agency’s value.
  • Client Consulting. You will develop a deep understanding of the client’s business, products, industry trends, and competitors to establish the “why”. You will engage in high-level strategic conversations with clients to understand their business challenges and provide proactive, innovative solutions that align with their goals. You will anticipate client needs, stay ahead of industry trends, and offer informed and impactful recommendations to drive business results.
  • Client Account Management. You will oversee the tracking and management of client account financial performance, ensuring alignment with established revenue and margin targets and contributing to GMR’s overall profitability. You will support the accurate pricing of new opportunities at the onset, considering rates, resources, and coverage to optimize financial outcomes for both the client and GMR. You will manage budges and collaborate with internal teams to generate basic financial reports and insights, supporting revenue recognition and financial planning efforts.
  • Growth Leadership. You will spearhead new business development initiatives, from prospecting through to contract negotiations, successfully acquiring new clients. You will provide strategic guidance and mentorship to internal teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence in growth efforts. You will lead thought leadership initiatives to strengthen the GMR brand and drive agency growth.
  • Leadership. You will lead and develop high-performing cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture that prioritizes excellence. You will identify and implement strategies to drive operational efficiencies and create groundbreaking work that significantly advances agency success. You will provide mentorship and guidance to senior team members, promoting a culture of feedback, continuous learning, and improvement.
