Job description

This position is responsible for daily interaction via phone, mail, email, or personally with customers and team members to establish and/or maintain a positive working relationship with all parties. This includes handling all alarms and inbound phone calls, handling all incoming alarm signal activities and taking appropriate action as well as making outbound calls to contact customers, emergency contacts, and Police/Fire/EMS regarding alarm activities while following standard operating procedures.

This role…

  • Maintains expertise for all assigned duties and responsibilities and answer alarms and inbound phone calls according to protocol.
  • Completes new hire training and pass all required compliance testing.
  • Monitors high volume of medical alert, secondary alarms, and inbound phone calls with genuine concern.
  • Receives alarm system calls or incoming telephone calls regarding emergency and non-emergency police and fire service, emergency ambulance service, information and after hours calls for departments within a city.
  • Answers alarms and inbound phone calls according to protocol and determine response requirements and relative priorities of situations, and dispatch in accordance with established procedures including determining location and type of response required.
  • Answers customer questions using scripted and non-scripted responses.
  • Verifies demographics and data enter customer information into the computer.
  • Records details of calls, dispatches, and messages.
  • Troubleshoots alarm systems, and report malfunctions to ensure units receive necessary maintenance.
  • Answers routine inquiries and relay information and messages to and from appropriate agencies, departments, and to all other individuals or groups requiring notification.
  • Maintains access to, and security of, highly sensitive materials.
  • Refers customer complaints to appropriate persons.
  • Maintains project productivity and quality goals.
  • Participate in other projects or duties as assigned.

  • Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in managing multiple tasks as the same time.

Salary: $16.36 - $22.09 Hourly

Extended periods of sitting; frequent telephone, headset, and computer use; data entry; occasional standing and walking; lifting up to 10 lbs.
