Using the Transcription Platform, the Transcriptionist will transcribe and/or edits patients’ healthcare documentation dictated by physicians and other healthcare providers. S/he will receive general instructions on routing work and detailed instructions on new assignments. S/he will exchange job-related information to provide routine support, and perform assignments according to pre-determined deadlines.
Responsibilities:Transcribing * Transcribes and/or edits inpatient/outpatient medical, surgical, radiological, and pathological reports at a 98% accuracy rate, at a minimum of 175 lines per hour. * Participates in goals set by department. |
Data Integrity * Gathers/Verifies information on patients prior to conclusion of documentation. * Identifies and resolves routing and recurring problems. * Ability to recognizes when there is insufficient information and brings problems to the attention of leadership. * Exchanges job-related information to provide routine support on an ongoing basis. |
Compliance/Safety * Responsible for reporting any safety related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner. * Maintains confidentiality of all department, patient, and transcription matters. * Completes all company mandatory modules and required job specific training in the specified time frame. * Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employees area of responsibility. * Stays current with medical terminology and human anatomy. |
