Job description

Would you like to work with advanced technology and help develop embedded solutions at the heart of our GNSS systems? In this role, you will combine your software expertise with complex problem-solving and work closely with skilled colleagues across different technical disciplines. Come and join us!

We are facing an exciting future with considerable growth and demanding changes, as we deliver advanced technologies and mission critical solutions for the defense and aerospace industry. Our systems provide security for people on land, at sea and in the air. Therefore, we are looking for a software engineer to become part of this journey and contribute to our overall purpose – securing people through advanced technology.

Your role in our team

As our new software engineer, you will play a key role in developing our embedded GNSS solution and turning advanced algorithms into robust, real-time software.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing, testing and improving embedded software solutions in close collaboration with colleagues across software, platform and FPGA development. You will take an active part in solving complex development challenges and help ensure that our solutions are reliable, efficient and ready for integration into the wider system.

You will join a team of 10 colleagues and two student workers, each bringing different technical perspectives and areas of expertise. We work closely together, share knowledge openly and value an informal atmosphere where collaboration and helping each other are a natural part of the day-to-day work.

How you will make a meaningful contribution

Your key responsibilities include:

    • Develop and maintain embedded software for GNSS solutions
    • Work closely with the platform architect and SDR/FPGA development team
    • Implement and test new software features and functionality
    • Contribute to integration, debugging and optimization of the solution
    • Translate complex requirements and algorithms into reliable software
    • Take part in technical discussions and contribute to continuous improvements
    • Collaborate closely with colleagues across different technical disciplines

Bring your world class expertise into play

You are fluent in English both in writing and verbal at a professional level. Danish is an advantage but not a requirement. Moreover, we are also looking for a new colleague with the following qualifications:

    • You bring around 5 years of hands-on experience with embedded software development
    • You are comfortable programming in C and/or C++
    • You have experience working with embedded Linux
    • You are familiar with unit testing as part of the development process
    • You have a good understanding of multithreading, concurrency and real-time systems
    • You are comfortable working with mathematical concepts related to signal processing and frequency-domain analysis
    • Experience with SDR, phased-array systems, GNU Radio, GNSS, RFNoC or UHD would be an advantage
    • Experience with mission-critical SW development/assurance standards and associated safety classifications such as ECSS-E-ST-40, RTCA DO-178C, EUROCAE ED-12C, ISO 26262-6, AQAP-2210, EN 50716, IEC 62304 or similar is considered an advantage

As a person, you are analytical and persistent, with a natural interest in understanding how complex systems work. You are comfortable diving into challenging problems, staying focused when solutions are not obvious and working systematically to find the right approach.

We are an international company representing world-class expertise, delivering complex and high-tech products. We value our colleagues and our meaningful contributions to securing people through advanced technology. You will also experience that we have a strong focus on your development, teaching you useful new competences and further strengthening current ones, both professionally and personally. Our company culture is autonomous and engaging, and we acknowledge the importance of flexibility in a great working environment.

When joining Terma, we promise that you will experience: Great people, challenging tasks, world-class expertise, and meaningful contribution in your daily work.
