About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our manufacturing operations. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Engineering & Maintenance Manager will provide leadership and direction across the Denby and Little Eaton sites, ensuring our people, assets and processes perform at the highest level.

The successful candidate will champion a proactive asset care strategy, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, safety and operational excellence. Alongside accountability for maintenance and facilities performance, you will lead capital investment programmes and drive initiatives that support our journey towards net zero carbon emissions, helping to build a more sustainable future for our business.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the maintenance and facilities strategy across the Denby and Little Eaton sites, driving excellence in planned, predictive and reactive maintenance, asset care, reliability and continuous improvement.
  • Lead the effective utilisation and ongoing enhancement of the SAP maintenance management system, ensuring industry best practices and data-driven decision making are embedded across maintenance operations.
  • Own the maintenance and facilities budget, delivering P&L performance through effective cost control, reporting and optimisation of maintenance, MRO and utilities spend.
  • Lead, coach and develop the maintenance team, creating a high-performance culture through clear objectives, performance management and targeted development plans.
  • Ensure all maintenance and facilities activities are delivered safely and in full compliance with company standards, legal requirements and health, safety and environmental regulations.
  • Establish and manage robust contractor management processes, ensuring all third-party partners operate in accordance with company safety standards and relevant UK and European regulatory requirements.
  • Support the development of the site capital investment plan and lead the delivery of engineering projects, including business case development, capital expenditure justification and project execution.
  • Champion sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives across the sites, driving energy and effluent reduction programmes, maintaining ISO 50001 compliance and supporting the site's journey towards Net Zero carbon emissions.

Experience you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in a maintenance leadership role within a manufacturing, FMCG, process, or related industrial environment.
  • Relevant engineering qualification (HND minimum, degree preferred) in Mechanical, Electrical or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrated success in leading maintenance teams, delivering asset reliability improvements and managing maintenance budgets.
