Job description

Position: RPN Admin

Hours: Part time, Monday - Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Contract: Fixed-term, 6 months

Location: Remote

Reason for Vacancy: New position

The primary focus of the Occupational Health Department Registered Practical Nurse would be to work independently on various administrative duties or other duties as assigned by management.  You will be responsible for working in conjunction with the Occupational Health Team.

Primary duties and responsibilities: 

  • Organize and maintain paperwork flow and process;
  • Computer entry of various medical exams and occupational health services, including audiograms, pulmonary function tests, respirator fit testing, and chest x-rays;
  • Assist clients with questions and concerns via phone and email;
  • Review results of a variety of occupational health tests and provide recommendations to client;
  • Contact client candidates/employees as required;
  • Liaison with other health professionals to request paperwork, medical file updates, and specific client cases;
  • Facilitate Pre-placement Occupational Health Assessments, Medical Surveillance, and Case Management (Alcohol & Drug Case Management, File Reviews, Injury and Disability Management) services utilizing management support as required. 

What you need to be successful in the role:

  • Must be a licensed RPN in Ontario in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Case management and occupational health experience (audiometric testing, spirometry, wellness programs) is considered an asset 
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritizing and managing time effectively in order to optimize productivity and meet; critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
  • Conceptual thinker with exceptional analytical skills, able to identify challenges and develop a critical path to solve problems;
  • Results oriented, strive to achieve high levels of individual and organizational performance;  
  • Conscientious, flexible and adaptable;
  • French is considered an asset;
