Data Migration Specialist – Employee Benefits

Location: Remote (Travel as Needed)

Overview

Join Alera Group's Transformation Office and play a key role in our enterprise transformation initiative. As a Data Migration Specialist, you'll ensure the successful migration of Employee Benefits data from legacy systems into our enterprise platform. You'll analyze, map, validate, and improve data while partnering with business stakeholders, technical teams, and implementation partners to deliver accurate, standardized data that supports business operations.

Responsibilities:

What You'll Do

  • Analyze, map, and validate Employee Benefits data from legacy systems into enterprise applications.
  • Perform data quality reviews, identify discrepancies, and recommend solutions before and after system conversions.
  • Partner with business and technical teams to resolve data issues and ensure successful migrations.
  • Develop and maintain mapping documentation, issue logs, validation reports, and migration documentation.
  • Support multiple migration projects while meeting project milestones and deadlines.
  • Recommend improvements to enterprise data standards, migration processes, and data governance practices.
  • Assist with post-conversion validation and stabilization activities.
Qualifications:

What You'll Bring

Required

  • 3+ years of experience supporting data migrations, system implementations, enterprise applications, or business transformation initiatives
  • Experience with data mapping, validation, data quality, or system conversions
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment

Preferred

  • Employee Benefits insurance industry experience
  • Experience with BenefitPoint or other Agency Management Systems (Applied Epic, Zywave/BKB, Gen4, Dynamics, TAM, etc.)
  • Experience working with system conversion vendors
  • Knowledge of enterprise data governance and large-scale transformation initiatives

Work Environment

This is a full-time, exempt position with occasional travel to Alera Group offices as needed. Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate across business and technical teams while supporting multiple migration initiatives.

 

Additional Information:

This job is fully remote.

Base salary range is $80,000 to $120,000 per year.
This position is eligible for an annual performance-based bonus.
