  • Support Market Leadership with oversight and management of standards, policies and best practices for all employment negotiations, contract administration and reporting
  • Prepare and draft a high volume of contracts for content and programming employees, including complex financial structuring for multi-year deals

Position Overview:

Cumulus Media | (Atlanta, GA) has an immediate, fully remote opening for a Corporate Counsel member to join the Corporate Legal team. The Corporate Counsel reports directly to the Vice President & Assistant General Counsel and will be supporting the legal needs of Cumulus Media's radio station group and related businesses. This includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements; as well as day-to-day legal support on station operations, sponsorships, intellectual property, FCC compliance, and other legal issues affecting local radio markets.

  • Draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including vendor, services, programming, promotions, sponsorship, event, digital, real estate, and operational agreements.
  • Analyze issues and provide strategic advice/day-to-day legal support on station operations, contests and promotions, advertising and sponsorship matters, intellectual property issues, FCC compliance, collections, and other legal issues affecting local markets.

  • Support Market Leadership with oversight and management of standards, policies and best practices for all employment negotiations, contract administration and reporting.

  • Prepare and draft a high volume of contracts for content and programming employees, including complex financial structuring for multi-year deals.
  • Stay up to date on external governance trends - FCC changes, updates in state employment law; and general legal issues & best practices.
  • Provide support and advisement on other transactions and special projects, as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school with an active membership in good standing of the Bar required.
  • 3-5+ years of corporate or administrative legal experience required; background in media (new and traditional), broadcasting, employment law, or FCC compliance, is a plus.
  • Spearheading the drafting and negotiation of vendor, services, programming, promotions, sponsorship, event, digital, real estate, and operational agreements.
  • Ability to recognize and mitigate risk while managing complex and confidential information.

  • Confidence to solve complex problems using multiple sources of information, understanding of impact of your decisions.

  • Ability to identify new opportunities for continued improvement across our business.

  • Strong written and interpersonal skills required.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced legal environment.
Pay Range: USD $145,000.00 - USD $165,000.00 /Yr. What We Offer:
