Looking for a new opportunity? We are looking for a Manager, Project Technical Assurance to join our team!
What You Will Do
- The Manager of Project Technical Assurance reports to the Director, Engineering Management.
- The Manager Project Technical Assurance will be responsible for Testing and Commissioning activities, safety certification participation and safety acceptance for the Metrolinx Subway Expansion Projects.
- This role ensures the seamless integration and handover of the Metrolinx Subway Expansion projects to TTC Operations.
- The manager is involved early and continuously throughout each project, providing technical guidance and support.
- They collaborate with TTC Stakeholders to ensure projects are maintainable and fully integrated with existing systems such as track, traction power, communications, signals, and train control.
- The manager serves as the single point of accountability for safety and assurance, ensuring that all assurance evidence is complete, validated, documented and prepared for review and approval by TTC Stakeholders and upper management.
- They provide subject matter expertise in various fields, including track engineering, signal and systems integration, building systems integration, and operations and maintenance coordination.
- They work closely with Project Directors, Senior Project Managers, and Project Managers to ensure that projects are maintainable, and ready for operational use.
- The manager collaborates with Metrolinx project delivery and their contractors to develop and execute testing, commissioning, and handover plans, including checklists, schedules, and training materials for TTC Operating groups.
- They coordinate with TTC Operating groups to ensure any necessary updates to operational procedures are made for the smooth transition of new assets.
- They coordinate with TTC’s Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) team to ensure all required asset information—such as maintenance manuals, shop drawings, and supplier documentation—is collected and delivered.
- The manager develops, modifies, or adopts TTC processes and procedures to support Metrolinx and their contractors with the timely and seamless transfer of newly constructed assets into the operational environment.

What Qualifications Do You Bring
- Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline (e.g., engineering, business), combined with extensive experience in project management, project controls, engineering, or construction.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in quality assurance and design integration for infrastructure projects.
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage quality and interface management programs for complex projects.
- Experience working with integrated systems in transit and facilities environments, including testing, commissioning, and handover of large-scale facilities.
- Background in constructing transit-oriented facilities, ideally within active operating environments.
- Solid understanding of project management principles, processes, and procedures.
- Familiarity with engineering and construction standards and practices.
- Familiarity with industry safety standards (Cenelec and MIL) as well as TTC Corporate Standards for engineering, operations and health safety.
- Able to read and interpret procurement documents and technical drawings, including as-builts, IFCs, foreign prints, and shop drawings.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to investigate issues, think critically, and recommend solutions to senior leadership.
- Demonstrated leadership, team collaboration, and client relationship management skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and conflict resolution abilities.
- Sound judgment and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint) and other relevant software.
