Position Summary: 

Join our Research & Development department for a hands-on internship where you'll gain practical experience in clinical operations, project management, and vaccine development. Working alongside experienced professionals, you'll support projects that advance global clinical trials while building skills in clinical research, project coordination, and cross-functional collaboration.


Working under the guidance of the Clinical Project Manager, you'll assist with Clinical Operations initiatives, including organizing clinical documentation, supporting project management activities, and supporting the development of operational tools and resources. Throughout the internship, you'll collaborate with the Program & Portfolio Management team and gain exposure to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), International Council for Harmonisation (ICH) guidelines, and Clinical Operations best practices.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist the Clinical Project Manager with initiatives to improve Clinical Operations processes, including supporting the organization and standardization of clinical study documentation
  • Support the development and implementation of a standardized document organization system by assisting with document review, organization, and maintenance activities
  • Assist with the preparation of user guidance and reference materials that promote consistent document management practices across Clinical Operations
  • Support the development and maintenance of a centralized Clinical Operations dashboard by organizing and updating study information, project milestones, site information, and other project resources
  • Participate in cross-functional project meetings to gain exposure to clinical development, project management, and Clinical Operations processes while documenting key discussion points and action items, as appropriate
  • Provide project coordination support by assisting with meeting scheduling, meeting minutes, action item tracking, project documentation, status reporting, and maintenance of project management tools
  • Assist with preparing project presentations, reports, and other materials that support program planning, governance, and decision-making
  • Collaborate with members of the Program & Portfolio Management team and cross-functional stakeholders across Research & Development to support project activities and gain practical experience in a collaborative environment
  • There may be opportunities to support additional project management and operational activities based on team needs
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Project Management, Public Health, Life Sciences, Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field
  • Interest in project management, clinical research, biotechnology, vaccine development, or global health
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • High attention to detail 
  • Good analytical thinking skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, OneNote, and Microsoft Teams
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar platforms is preferred but not required
  • Willingness to learn and collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Available to work 20 hours per week during the Fall Semester
