Skills and Competencies
  • Experience working with Ownership, Individuals, or Sanctions data, including management of complex ownership structures, entity relationships, individual/contact information, and regulatory data attributes
  • Proven experience in Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Management, or related disciplines
  • Strong understanding of Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata Management, and Master Data Management principles
  • Experience defining and implementing data quality controls, metrics, and remediation processes
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across business and technology teams
  • DAMA Certified Data Management Professional or related Data Management certification preferred
  • Experience with metadata management, data lineage, data catalog, or data quality tooling preferred
  • Familiarity with Structured Query Language and data analysis techniques preferred
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.
 
Education
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Data Management, Information Management, Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field
 
Responsibilities
Drive data governance, quality, and integrity across critical relationship data domains to ensure trusted and well-managed data assets.
  • Support governance of Ownership, Individuals, and Sanctions data domains by defining and maintaining data standards, business rules, critical data elements, metadata, and data quality controls to ensure data is trusted, consistent, and fit for purpose
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to define data requirements, business rules, data definitions, and ownership responsibilities
  • Drive data quality initiatives through measurement, monitoring, root cause analysis, and remediation programs
  • Develop and maintain data governance artifacts including business glossaries, metadata, data definitions, and governance documentation
  • Support master and reference data management practices to improve consistency, integrity, and usability of data assets
  • Track governance issues, risks, and actions, ensuring timely resolution and escalation where appropriate
  • Facilitate governance forums and influence stakeholders to promote data accountability and adoption of best practices
  • Contribute to strategic data transformation and process improvement initiatives across the Data Estate organization
 
About the Team
The Data Estate team empowers trusted, scalable data capabilities that support Moody’s Analytics products and enable informed decision-making globally. As part of the Data Governance team, this role helps ensure that data is trusted, consistent, well understood, and used responsibly as a business asset. The team establishes governance policies, standards, decision rights, and accountability; supports data ownership and stewardship; develops shared data models; and strengthens data quality, metadata, lineage, reference and master data, and lifecycle practices. Working across business, product, data, technology, Legal, and Risk teams, the team turns enterprise data strategy into practical ways of working that make data easier to find, understand, combine, protect, and use for products, analytics, artificial intelligence, regulatory compliance, and business decisions.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $103,800.00 - $150,600.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
