Job description

Description

Matrix Global Services is seeking a Data Governance Analyst to support data governance initiatives for capital markets clients. This role is responsible for advancing core data management principals — data quality, data lineage, and business glossary/metadata management — and will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on the Collibra platform. The ideal candidate combines hands-on Collibra configuration and administration experience with a working knowledge of capital markets data (trade, reference, position, and risk data) and the regulatory context that drives governance requirements in financial services.

Key Responsibilities

Data Governance & Data Management

•      Support the design, implementation, and ongoing operation of data governance processes covering data quality, data lineage, and metadata/glossary management.

•      Define and maintain business glossary terms, data domains, and data element definitions in partnership with business and technology stakeholders.

•      Document and maintain end-to-end data lineage from source systems through transformation and consumption layers, supporting traceability and regulatory reporting needs.

•      Design and monitor data quality rules, scorecards, and dashboards; investigate data quality issues and drive remediation with data owners and stewards.

•      Support data stewardship operating models, including roles, responsibilities, and escalation workflows for data owners, stewards, and custodians.

•      Contribute to policies, standards, and procedures for data governance aligned to regulatory expectations (e.g., BCBS 239, SR 11-7, CCAR, MiFID II) relevant to capital markets.

Collibra Platform (SME)

•      Serve as the SME for Collibra Data Governance Center, including workflow configuration, asset model design, and platform administration.

•      Build and maintain Collibra workflows for glossary approval, data quality issue management, and lineage certification.

•      Configure and maintain Collibra Data Quality & Observability integrations, including scanning, profiling, and rule authoring.

•      Integrate Collibra with source systems and metadata providers (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, ETL/ELT pipelines) to automate lineage and technical metadata capture.

•      Manage Collibra domains, communities, roles, and permissions; support user onboarding, training, and platform adoption.

•      Partner with Collibra and internal technology teams to evaluate new platform capabilities and recommend enhancements.

Stakeholder Engagement & Delivery

•      Work directly with capital markets client stakeholders (data owners, compliance, risk, technology) to gather requirements and translate them into governance solutions.

•      Prepare governance documentation, training materials, and status reporting for client and internal leadership audiences.

•      Support engagement delivery in a consulting environment, including participation in proposals, discovery workshops, and client presentations as needed.

Required Qualifications

•      3–6+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or data quality roles, with direct experience in capital markets or broader financial services.

•      Hands-on SME-level experience configuring and administering Collibra Data Governance Center (workflows, asset model, Data Quality & Observability).

•      Strong working knowledge of core data governance principals: data quality frameworks, metadata management, business glossary development, and data lineage documentation.

•      Familiarity with capital markets data domains (trade, position, reference/security master, counterparty, risk) and related regulatory drivers.

•      Experience partnering with data owners, stewards, and technology teams to operationalize governance processes.

•      Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical governance concepts into business-outcome language for client stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

•      Collibra certification(s) (e.g., Collibra Ranger, Collibra Certified Data Steward/Admin).

•      Experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or Dataiku, and their integration with Collibra for automated lineage/metadata capture.

•      Exposure to regulatory data programs (BCBS 239, CCAR, SR 11-7, MiFID II, or similar) in a banking or capital markets environment.

•      Prior experience in a consulting or professional services environment supporting enterprise clients.

•      Bachelor's degree in a related field (Information Systems, Finance, Data/Computer Science, or equivalent experience).
