Canva

Graphic Design

Before Canva, creating a professional looking design was a complex process - you had to purchase expensive software; learn how to use it; purchase stock photography and fonts for the software; decide on a layout; slice images; receive photos and content via email; design something; upload and email the pdf only to find revisions needed to be made … and then finally be able to prepare your design for web or print. Since launching in August 2013, Canva has been changing the way in which we communicate. Today our design tool has attracted over 60 million happy users across 190 countries, who have collectively created more than 7 billion designs. With an integrated marketplace that has both free and paid stock photography, fonts, illustrations, and thousands of templates; a paid subscription that offers the ability to set up a brand kit so users can save their brand colours, fonts and assets, and ensure consistency across their designs; and a print service that gives our users the ability to produce professional prints in a variety of formats and sizes, delivered straight to their doorstep - Canva is disrupting the way we design.

Job description

Job Description

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.

Kamusta, hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, สวัสดี!

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

Alongside our global campuses, we also collaborate with talented contractors and freelancers from all over the world to help us achieve our crazy big goals. While we support flexible, remote-friendly ways of working, for this role we’re focusing on Jakarta, Indonesia so we can best support our teams and keep collaboration flowing.

This role is a 6-month engagement, working 40 hours per week.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

As an Education Marketing Specialist, you will sit at the centre of campaign execution, turning strategy into action. You will collaborate with the Education team, PerMar, Community, Social, agency partners, and cross-functional teams to bring high-impact campaigns to life.

Your work will directly shape how millions of teachers and students experience Canva in their classrooms, empowering them to achieve stronger teaching and learning outcomes.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Deliver end-to-end execution of truly local education marketing campaigns from initiation and briefing to rollout and performance reporting, ensuring campaigns launch smoothly, resonate with Indonesian teachers and students, and measurably contribute to deeper classroom usage.
  • Develop insight-led campaign briefs, translating strategic goals into structured execution plans that drive activation and support long-term usage.
  • Coordinate assets across internal teams and agency partners, maintaining clear timelines and quality standards so campaigns are delivered on time, on brand, and at a consistently high bar, strengthening trust, operational efficiency, and repeatability.
  • Execute multi-channel campaigns across email, social, influencer, paid, and in-product surfaces, optimising channel mix and messaging to expand reach, increase engagement, and convert awareness into meaningful classroom usage among teachers and students.
  • Localise global messages into culturally relevant education narratives, ensuring campaigns feel native to Indonesian classrooms rather than translated, increasing relevance, shareability, and impact across diverse education audiences.
  • Track and analyse performance metrics beyond vanity numbers, connecting campaign activity to activation signals, student engagement, and Education MAU contribution, and providing clear, insight-led recommendations for improvement.
  • Identify optimisation opportunities and continuously iterate campaigns, applying structured learnings to improve performance over time and raise the execution bar quarter by quarter.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Education Sales, Community, Product Marketing, and broader Marketing teams, ensuring cohesive messaging and coordinated activation that reinforces adoption, strengthens ecosystem alignment, and drives sustained classroom impact.

You're probably a match if

  • You have deep experience in the Indonesian education market, especially K–12. You understand how teachers and students use digital tools in real classroom settings, and you know how to design campaigns that align with school calendars, assessment cycles, and institutional realities — driving meaningful learning outcomes, not just surface-level engagement.
  • You’ve run end-to-end campaigns targeting teachers and/or students. You confidently move from insight to brief, coordination to launch, and reporting to iteration — ensuring your campaigns drive reach, activation, and sustained usage.
  • You know how to localise global ideas into culturally relevant stories for Indonesian education audiences. You understand tone, channel behaviour, and what motivates teachers versus students — and you tailor your messaging accordingly.
  • You’re a clear and compelling communicator. You simplify complex ideas, write strong briefs, present campaign results with structure and purpose, and align stakeholders through thoughtful storytelling.
  • You understand how to activate and engage education communities across multiple channels — including email, social, influencer partnerships, and in-product messaging. You know how communities behave online and how to build momentum beyond a single campaign moment.
  • You’re data-driven and impact-focused. You look beyond vanity metrics, connecting reach and engagement to activation signals, usage behaviour, and MAU contribution — and you use insights to continuously refine strategy and execution.
  • You’re highly organised and operationally disciplined. You proactively manage timelines, dependencies, and risks, anticipating blockers early and delivering campaigns to a high bar.
  • You bring a strong growth mindset and sense of ownership. You’re comfortable operating in ambiguity, learning through iteration, raising the execution bar over time, and taking accountability for outcomes.
  • You collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners. You build trust through clarity, reliability, and strong communication, ensuring alignment and smooth execution across multiple stakeholders.
