Description
Dragonfli Group is a cybersecurity and IT consulting firm providing services to federal agencies and Fortune 100 enterprises. Headquartered in Washington, DC, Dragonfli supports clients in securing mission-critical systems across on-site, hybrid, and fully remote environments.
Dragonfli is seeking a tenured Enterprise / Solution Architect to support an M&A integration and application architecture blueprinting program for a large commercial enterprise in the management consulting industry. In this role, you will assess the current-state application, data, and integration landscapes of the organizations involved in a merger, acquisition, or divestiture, and build the target-state architecture blueprints, dependency views, and decision documentation needed to guide the integration or separation.
You'll work directly with business leaders, program teams, functional subject matter experts, and technical teams to translate complex, time-sensitive integration requirements into practical, implementation-ready architecture decisions. This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role: you should be senior enough to independently lead architecture discussions and advise client stakeholders, while also being comfortable personally producing the underlying analysis and artifacts. We're looking for architects with broad enterprise and solution architecture experience of approximately 8 or more years.
This is a contract position involving a large commercial enterprise in the management consulting industry. Candidates with previous consulting or contracting experience are preferred. U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required. If hired, all work related to this role must be performed within the continental U.S.
Responsibilities:
- Lead current-state architecture assessments across the application, data, and integration landscapes of the organizations involved in an M&A transaction
- Define target-state application and integration architecture to guide post-merger integration or divestiture separation
- Translate business and program requirements into architecture principles, roadmaps, and implementation-ready recommendations under deal-driven timelines
- Develop architecture blueprints, dependency views, system inventories, and decision documentation to support integration or carve-out sequencing
- Coordinate across business leaders, program teams, functional SMEs, and technical teams to align on architecture decisions
- Facilitate client discussions and communicate architecture strategy clearly to both executive and technical audiences
- Personally produce architecture diagrams, analysis, and documentation as a hands-on individual contributor
- Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with incomplete information and evolving priorities
Requirements
Must-Have
- 8+ years of enterprise and/or solution architecture experience
- Experience supporting M&A integration, carve-out, or divestiture programs, including application and data rationalization across two or more organizations
- Demonstrated experience spanning business, application, data, integration, and infrastructure architecture — breadth over deep single-platform specialization
- Experience developing current-state assessments and target-state architecture roadmaps
- Strong stakeholder facilitation and communication skills across executive and technical audiences
- Comfortable working as a hands-on individual contributor, personally producing architecture artifacts
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency; ability to perform all work within the continental United States
- Immediate or near-immediate availability
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Prior experience at, or supporting, a Big 4 or large consulting-led transformation environment
- Experience with transition service agreements (TSAs) and Day 1 / Day 2 cutover planning
- Exposure to major ERP or enterprise platforms at an architecture level, without requiring deep specialization in any one
- Enterprise architecture certification (e.g., TOGAF) or equivalent framework experience
- Experience producing architecture artifacts with standard EA tooling (e.g., ArchiMate, LeanIX, Ardoq, Visio)
