Position Title: Intermediate Accountant
Work Set-up: Permanent Work From Home
Salary: Php 40,000.00 – Php 50,000.00
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM PH Time

Our client is a fresh food market located in Canberra, Australia. It specializes in high-quality fresh produce, including fruits, vegetables, and meats, sourced from local producers. They also offer a range of grocery items, dairy products, and health foods. The Food Forum provides both retail and wholesale services, supplying fresh produce to over 200 local businesses and delivering to various Canberra suburbs.

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR AN INTERMEDIATE ACCOUNTANT

Responsibilities as an Intermediate Accountant:
• Prepare and review financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Manage general ledger entries and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for significant differences.
• Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and regulations.
• Liaise with external auditors and provide necessary documentation and support during audits.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations and assist with tax preparation and lodgment.
• Provide support and mentorship to junior accountants and accounting assistants.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Qualifications as an Intermediate Accountant:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience in an Australian Firm or company
• Understanding of Australian accounting standards and tax laws.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
