Job description

Job Description:
  • In this role, you will be responsible for managing materials procurement life cycle including supplier selection, negotiation of contracts, purchase order management, capacity scale-up, and supplier performance. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing and scaling planning and purchasing processes for new product introduction and managing critical outsourcing activities. You must be able to think strategically, manage relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, and deliver results in a timely and cost-effective manner. The ideal candidate will have an engineering background to work in co-development manner with Engineering, Manufacturing, quality and vendors.
  • You are responsible for managing the development and implementation of procurement sourcing strategies end to end which will include: supplier management, due diligence and selection, managing cost of operations within a defined category of the supply chain; establishing standard costs; developing and executing cost reduction strategies; analyzing market indices and negotiating pricing based on relevant cost drivers; forecasting cost impacts; managing and leading all commercial negotiations with suppliers; should cost modeling and problem solving supply issues and recommending actions. Manages and fosters relationships with cross-functional departments to ensure collaborative, actionable interactions.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required (or 5 years of NPI sourcing experience).
  • Master of Business Administration or equivalent advanced degree a plus
  • C.P.M, CPSM, CPSD, or equivalent procurement certification is a plus.
  • Project Management Certification is a plus
  • 10+ years of procurement or strategic sourcing experience within the elevator industry preferred, or alternatively automotive, aerospace, or consumer goods manufacturing industry is required.
  • Superior Project management skills, attention to detail, understanding business processes, and communication are important for this role.
  • Superior ability to independently plan, coordinate, and execute work with autonomy, and communicate effectively progress to senior leaders and subordinates through excellent presentation skills. Superior understanding of end-to-end supply chain business processes (Demand and Supply Planning, Inventory Management, Lifecycle Management)
  • Well-versed in TCO analysis to ensure data-driven analytics tied to component and supplier selection, in a product-based ecosystem.
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills; Exceptional communications skills required.
  • Advocate on behalf of the PSM organization function with business units and operational partners to ensure support for core business objectives.
  • Demonstrates strong aptitude for managing and motivating others and building team unity
  • Results oriented with strong sense of urgency to mitigate risk and close issues
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects/resources simultaneously.
  • High standard of ethics and professionalism; Entrepreneurial spirit and vision
  • Proven ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% annually.
