The Opportunity:


CACI is seeking a Server & Identity Engineering Lead to join our technical operations and maintenance team on a contract supporting the enterprise network and infrastructure at the Department of Homeland Security. This role serves as the technical and personnel lead for the Server & Identity Engineering team, with responsibility for overseeing day-to-day engineering activities, coordinating workload, mentoring team members, supporting performance management activities, and ensuring timely delivery of operational and engineering support. The position is primarily focused on Windows, VMware, Active Directory, identity services, and endpoint/server management in a 24/7/365 enterprise environment.

Responsibilities:
 

Serve as a Senior Engineering member responsible for troubleshooting and maintenance. Responsibilities include:
             Serve as the lead for the Server & Identity Engineering team, providing day-to-day technical direction, task prioritization, and operational oversight.
             Manage and coordinate team workload across server administration, identity services, virtualization, patching, incident response, service requests, and engineering initiatives.
             Provide personnel management support, including coaching, mentoring, performance feedback, goal tracking, and professional development guidance for assigned team members.
             Support staffing, onboarding, training, and cross-training activities to ensure team members are prepared to meet operational and mission requirements.
             Assign, track, and review work performed by team members to ensure quality, timeliness, and alignment with contract requirements and customer expectations.
             Conduct regular team meetings, one-on-one check-ins, and technical reviews to communicate priorities, address blockers, and maintain accountability.
             Escalate personnel, performance, resourcing, or delivery concerns to program and contract leadership as appropriate.
             Coordinate with program management, customer stakeholders, and other technical leads to align Server & Identity Engineering activities with enterprise priorities.
             Establish and promote standard operating procedures, engineering standards, documentation practices, and repeatable processes for the team.
             Review and validate technical documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, knowledge articles, operational reports, and root cause analysis inputs.
             Provide leadership during major incidents, troubleshooting bridges, planned maintenance windows, and high-priority engineering efforts.
             Track operational metrics, recurring issues, backlog items, and team performance indicators to support continuous improvement.
             Ensure team compliance with security policies, change management processes, incident management procedures, and operational reporting requirements.
             Identify skill gaps, recommend training opportunities, and support knowledge-sharing across the Server & Identity Engineering team.
             Serve as an escalation point for complex server, identity, virtualization, endpoint management, and infrastructure issues.


Qualifications:

Required: 

             Prior experience leading technical engineering or operations teams in an enterprise IT environment.
             Experience providing task direction, workload management, mentoring, and performance input for technical staff.
             Demonstrated ability to lead incident response, coordinate technical teams, and communicate status to leadership and stakeholders.
             Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to brief technical and non-technical audiences.
             Experience developing team processes, SOPs, knowledge articles, reporting, and operational improvement plans.
             Ability to balance hands-on technical responsibilities with team leadership, coordination, and personnel management duties.
             Ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance
             Ability to obtain Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Entry On Duty (EOD) - Active EOD preferred
             MS degree +

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$98,500-$206,800
