Position Overview:

The Scrum Master / Flow Master leverages agile frameworks and practices to coach and drive teams toward delivering outcomes to customers, while also serving as the operational backbone of an assigned portfolio. This dual role facilitates agile team events, ensures alignment to department goals and standards, and manages portfolio-level intake flow and capacity visibility. The Scrum Master collaborates with Portfolio Owners, Technical Delivery Managers, Product Managers, and peer Flow Masters to ensure work moves through the portfolio efficiently, commitments are honored, and risks are surfaced before becoming problems.

This position operates within Eastern Standard Time Zone working hours to support the East Coast region.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead agile software projects from product conception to release.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to understand product and project objectives and expected outcomes.
  • Facilitate agile team events including stand-up, backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Assist in removing team impediments and track and maintain agile metrics in information radiators.
  • Track, analyze, and report on agile metrics including velocity, cycle time, sprint burndown, and predictability to identify trends, surface improvement opportunities, and help teams make data-informed decisions.
  • Coach team members and CCM employees on agile principles, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Promote collaboration and transparency while communicating accurate and timely information to stakeholders.
  • Help foster a productive environment that supports accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the portfolio intake pipeline end-to-end, ensuring submissions are triaged and that items are ready for each intake review session.
  • Enforce the single-path intake rule, ensuring all work reaches enablement teams through the portfolio backlog and redirecting direct requests through the proper process.
  • Coordinate portfolio ceremonies including the intake review, portfolio sync, and portfolio leadership meeting, surfacing options and recommendations without making priority or sequencing decisions.
  • Maintain portfolio-level visibility across Jira, ensuring portfolio dashboards are accurate, initiative statuses are current, and all records reflect actual delivery states.
  • Maintain the portfolio health scorecard, tracking delivery, governance, and KPI health signals for use in portfolio ceremonies and leadership meetings.
  • Coordinate cross-portfolio dependencies with peer Flow Masters and escalate unresolved conflicts to the Delivery Manager or Portfolio Owner as appropriate.
  • Maintain the portfolio exception log, documenting date change logs, intake bypass attempts, material scope changes, priority overrides, and emergency requests with clear resolution tracking.
  • Support quarterly portfolio planning activities, including capacity planning, objective setting, and backlog review.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 4+ years of Scrum Master experience.
  • CSM or PMI-ACP certification, preferred.
  • Advanced experience leading large web-based software projects and delivering new products.
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment involving frequent software releases.
  • Experience operating in a portfolio or program management context, managing intake, capacity, and delivery visibility across multiple teams simultaneously.
  • Advanced understanding of agile principles and frameworks and experience implementing agile practices across both sprint-based and Kanban teams.
  • Knowledge of Jira or equivalent tools for portfolio tracking, board management, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of software engineering, databases, analytics and reporting, and cloud concepts.
  • Comfortable facilitating working-level and leadership meetings, presenting portfolio health, risks, and recommendations clearly and concisely.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including identifying, evaluating, and resolving complex challenges in dynamic environments.
  • Skilled in managing competing priorities and driving work to successful completion across multiple teams and initiatives.
  • Skilled in building collaborative working relationships and communicating effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
