Job description

Position Summary:

The Supply Chain Associate supports MEI’s strategic supply-chain programs for key customers, working at the intersection of operations, systems, and customer coordination. This role serves as a central point of coordination across customers, suppliers, MEI regional teams, and corporate functions to ensure seamless execution from order intake through transportation, storage, delivery, and equipment setting.

This is a high-visibility, externally facing role requiring strong communication skills, structured problem-solving, and the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, cross-functional environments. The Supply Chain Associate partners closely with Operations, Logistics, IT, Finance, and regional leadership to drive executional excellence, process consistency, and scalable supply-chain capabilities across MEI’s national footprint.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Supply Chain Program & Account Support

  • Act as the central communication and coordination hub for several large, strategic customer programs. Work directly with customers, their suppliers, and MEI regional teams to ensure smooth end-to-end execution across transportation, storage, delivery, and equipment setting.
  • Build and maintain strong external relationships, serving as a trusted liaison between customers, suppliers, and internal teams to anticipate needs, surface risks, and drive timely resolution.
  • Provide proactive visibility to all stakeholders through regular updates, dashboards, and escalation protocols – ensuring transparency and eliminating surprises across the supply chain.
  • Support monthly invoicing and reconciliation processes in partnership with Finance and regional teams, ensuring billing accuracy and alignment with customer records.
  • Lead the preparation of customer-facing materials for QBRs, MBRs, and scorecards, synthesizing operational performance data and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Supply Chain Process Standardization & Systems Enablement

  • Document current-state supply chain workflows across MEI’s national network, working with regional teams to capture real operating practices and identify gaps or inconsistencies.
  • Support the development and rollout of standardized processes, playbooks, and operating procedures that improve consistency, scalability, and execution quality.
  • Partner closely with IT, Integrations, and Operations teams to design, test, and deploy enhancements to MEI’s Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Transportation Management System (TMS).

Supply Chain Analytics & Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze operational and financial data related to storage, transportation, and handling activities to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support development of dashboards and reporting tools that provide actionable insights to customers, regional leaders, and corporate stakeholders.
  • Assist with root-cause analysis of service issues and support implementation of corrective actions in partnerships with Operations and regional teams.

Cross-Functional & Strategic Initiative Support

  • Support supply chain related initiatives tied to network expansion, new customer programs, or operational readiness for growth.
  • Partner with Operations, Finance, IT, and real estate teams to support data collection, analysis, and execution planning for supply-chain enablement efforts.
  • Prepare clear, structured materials for internal leadership reviews related to supply chain performance, capacity, and scalability.

Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education):

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
  • Two (2) to four (4) years’ professional experience in logistics, operations, consulting, program management, or a related analytical / operational role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and follow through on execution.
  • Possess an ownership mindset and ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Eager to develop deep operational expertise while working directly with strategic customers.
  • Supply Chain certifications are a plus.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

This position is a full-time remote position and most work will be performed in a home office setting. Will frequently use a computer, keyboard / mouse, cellular or office telephone, and regular business office equipment. Extended periods working in a seated position. Work involves extended periods of sitting, occasional walking, and lifting or moving objects weighing up to ten pounds. May occasionally work in non-temperature-controlled environments or outdoors with exposure to inclement weather or walk over uneven ground or terrain.
