Reporting to the Conflicts and Compliance Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting the firm's new business intake and attorney onboarding processes by identifying, analyzing, and resolving potential conflicts of interest. Your work will help safeguard client relationships, ensure compliance with ethical obligations and firm policies, and contribute to the efficient delivery of exceptional client service.

While this position is fully remote, most of our offices operate in the Mountain and Pacific time zones. Candidates must be available to work standard business hours in either the Mountain or Pacific time zone.

What You'll Do

As a Conflicts Analyst, your daily responsibilities will include:

Conflicts & Compliance Review:

  • Process conflicts searches and new business intake requests with a goal of 15–20 per day.
  • Conduct research and cross-reference attorney, client, and matter information.
  • Review and report potential conflicts of interest, providing recommendations where needed.
  • Ensure accurate and consistent documentation for new matters and client engagements.

Attorney & Staff Onboarding:

  • Assist with attorney onboarding by running pre-employment conflicts checks and helping resolve issues before start dates.
  • Collaborate with HR and legal teams to ensure compliance requirements are met prior to hire.

Compliance & Due Diligence:

  • Run and review Westlaw Due Diligence reports as part of the intake process.
  • Track compliance documentation including conflict waivers, engagement letters, outside counsel guidelines, and billing agreements.

Firmwide Support:

  • Respond to workflow requests and inquiries from attorneys and staff.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow firm policies to support ethical compliance.
  • Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as needed.

As part of our commitment to collaboration and excellence, this role requires flexibility in daily work schedules during periods of high workload, adherence to departmental and Firm goals and policies, and performance of other duties as assigned to support the success of the department and organization.

You'll do well here if you bring:

  • A combination of legal experience and education that has prepared you for work in conflicts, compliance, or corporate research.
  • 1–2 years of experience in a legal, compliance, or law firm environment.
  • Familiarity with legal ethics, due diligence, and compliance concepts.
  • Experience with automated conflict-checking systems and corporate research tools.
  • Confidence working in Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A sharp eye for detail and the ability to think through issues logically and independently.
  • Strong organizational habits — you're someone who can balance multiple priorities with ease.
  • A collaborative spirit, openness to learning, and adaptability in a fast-paced setting.
