Are you a passionate and ambitious software engineer ready to dive into an environment that fosters innovation, continuous learning, and professional growth? We're seeking talented individuals who are eager to tackle complex problems, build scalable solutions, and collaborate with some of the finest engineers in the entertainment industry.

  • Complex Projects, Creative Solutions: Dive into intricate projects that challenge and push boundaries. Solve complex technical puzzles and craft scalable solutions.

  • Embrace Challenges, Celebrate Success: Take on challenges, learn from failures, and celebrate achievements together.

About the Role:

We're building a new platform from scratch — a 0→1 product combining marketplace infrastructure, B2B SaaS, and high-volume content management, designed to handle significant transaction volume and billions of data points annually. This is a true full-stack role with roughly equal weight on frontend and backend. You'll own features end-to-end — from database schema through API design to the UI — working closely with our Staff Engineer, designer, and product stakeholders. Hands-on IC today, with a clear path toward technical leadership as the team grows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own features end-to-end — design, build, ship, and maintain
  • Build across the full stack: backend services, APIs, and polished frontend UIs in roughly equal measure
  • Implement multi-tenant architecture with strong data isolation and security
  • Integrate external APIs — social platforms, payment providers, partner systems
  • Collaborate with our designer to deliver responsive, high-quality user interfaces
  • Contribute to technical design and architecture discussions
  • Review code and help raise the team's quality bar
  • Mentor junior engineers as the team grows

Minimum Qualifications:

  • CS degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years shipping production software, with meaningful time on both frontend and backend
  • Polyglot mindset — proficient in at least one backend language and one frontend framework; comfortable picking up new ones
  • Strong frontend skills: component architecture, state management, data fetching patterns
  • Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, RESTful or RPC-style APIs
  • Comfortable with cloud infrastructure and containerised environments
  • Demonstrated ability to own features independently and ship iteratively
  • Clear communicator who gives and receives feedback well

Preferred Experience:

We work primarily in Go and TypeScript/React — familiarity with our stack is a bonus, not a blocker.

Full-Stack & Frontend:

  • Strong TypeScript and React — hooks, component design, performance optimisation
  • CSS frameworks (Tailwind or similar) and component libraries
  • Client-side data fetching and routing patterns
  • Data visualisation for dashboards and analytics UIs
  • Go for backend services.
  • TypeScript/React with Tailwind CSS and TanStack Query/Router.

Backend & Data:

  • Multi-sided platform or multi-tenant SaaS experience
  • Payment integration experience
  • Background job processing — queues, async workflows, distributed task scheduling
  • Event streaming or messaging systems
  • Fraud detection, trust & safety, or anomaly detection
  • PostgreSQL; NATS JetStream or Kafka for messaging
  • Protocol Buffers with ConnectRPC or gRPC

Infrastructure & Observability:

  • Cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Container orchestration (Kubernetes or equivalent)
  • CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows
  • Observability tooling — distributed tracing, structured logging, metrics
  • Kubernetes/EKS, ArgoCD, and Terraform
  • OpenTelemetry instrumentation and Datadog

Environment:

  • Startup / 0→1 experience: fast-paced, ambiguous, resource-constrained
  • ML or automation feature integration.

Why This Role:

  • 0→1 build: shape the platform architecture from day one.
  • High ownership: lead significant features end-to-end with real autonomy.
  • Complex domain: marketplace, payments, content, and automation in one product.
  • Equal frontend/backend split — no siloing into one layer.
  • Growth: clear path to technical leadership as the team scales.
  • Modern, well-considered stack with room to influence future technology choices.

Some of the perks of working for us:

  • Influence Culture and Excellence:Directly champion and drive cultural change across the organisation to raise the bar for engineering excellence.
  • Work alongside the top 5% of engineering talent in Australia, using a vast cloud native tech stack including AWS, Microservices, Large-Scale Distributed Systems, Kafka, K8's, Svelte, Typescript, Node.js, Golang, ArgoCD, Datadog & Cloudflare.
  • Exposure to building global, large-scale volume products which operate at thousands per second frequency (3 Billion Requests per day!).
  • Access to over 9,000 courses across our Learning and Development Platform.
  • EAP access for you and your family.
  • Be rewarded with lucrative annual bonuses.
  • Give back with a paid volunteer day.
  • Fuel your day with daily breakfast and open pantries brimming with unlimited snacks and refreshments, all on the house.
  • Break up the week with on site remedial massage Wednesdays.
  • In house full-time barista’s providing you your daily coffee needs.
  • Weekly team lunches on Monday.
  • Enjoy a bustling office with the option for up to 2 days work from home per week.
  • Fun office environment with pool tables, table tennis and all your favourite gaming consoles.
