GoDaddy's Registry team is looking for a Software Development Engineer to join a collaborative Agile team focused on building products and services that power the Registry system. In the role of a Software Development Engineer, you will contribute to user stories. You will build and operate services at the core of the internet. You will take full responsibility for the solutions and systems you build.

This is primarily a backend-focused role with opportunities to contribute across the full stack, including UI development. You'll work with modern cloud technologies, scalable distributed services, and AI-assisted engineering tools while building reliable and highly available solutions for GoDaddy Registry!

You'll collaborate with engineers across the team, continuously improve code quality and engineering practices, and gain exposure to technologies across the AWS and Java ecosystem.

What you'll get to do...

  • Full-stack development: Participate throughout the entire development stack, from UI components through backend services and persistence layers. Build clean, maintainable, and production-ready code with a strong focus on quality and reliability.
  • Cloud infrastructure and applications: Design, develop, maintain, and operate mission-critical infrastructure and applications in a cloud environment. Work hands-on with AWS infrastructure and cloud-based development environments.
  • Systems built for extensive scalability and robust availability: Build applications that support significant growth and maintain strong uptime while solving complex end-to-end engineering problems. Take ownership of the services along with the platforms you build, including their quality, maintainability, and operational health.
  • Testing and Agile delivery: Write and maintain functional and unit tests to ensure the reliability and quality of applications. Apply Agile development methodologies to continuously deliver, release, and deploy iterative improvements.
  • Collaboration and product ownership: Work alongside engineers and cross-functional teams to build and deliver reliable Registry solutions and offerings. Take ownership of the products and platforms you develop while consistently strengthening software integrity and development approachs.
  • Technology and AI-assisted engineering: Employ modern development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Atlassian Rovo, and M365 Copilot to enhance engineering efficiency. You'll get a chance to work with AWS Products and Services, Java 17+, Spring and Hibernate, JVM languages such as Scala and Kotlin, GitHub Actions, JUnit and Mockito, Gradle (Groovy), HTML5 and Node.js, JavaScript and Stylesheets, TypeScript and Angular 20+, Git and GitHub, relational databases, Oracle, PostgreSQL, NoSQL databases, MongoDB, IntelliJ IDEA, and AI-assisted development tools including Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Atlassian Rovo, and M365 Copilot.

Your experience should include...

  • Software engineering and microservices: 1–2 years of professional experience in a Software Engineering role, preferably building microservices. Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, software design, microservices, and cloud computing.
  • Java and cloud development: Knowledge and understanding of Java 17+ and development platforms hosted in the cloud. Experience with AWS is preferred.
  • Database technologies: Knowledge of database technologies, including Oracle and PostgreSQL.
  • Testing and development practices: Experience with unit testing and an understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles. Experience building CI/CD pipelines and server or deployment automation solutions.
  • Communication and collaboration: Proficient in conveying ideas clearly and working well with others.
