Job SummaryWe are seeking a seasoned Distributed Systems Architect to lead the design and evolution of large-scale microservices ecosystems built on modern container platforms and cloud-native technology stacks. The role requires deep expertise in service decomposition, domain-driven design, distributed data management, and runtime concerns such as resilience, observability, and security at scale. The ideal candidate brings hands-on architectural leadership across complex transformations, with a clear point of view on when microservices are the right answer, how to evolve them safely, and how to keep the resulting estate maintainable over the long term.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Eight or more years of software engineering experience, with several years in architecture roles.
- Deep expertise in microservices design, domain-driven design, and distributed systems patterns.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and service mesh technologies.
- Proficiency in at least one major backend language such as Java, Go, or C#.
- Strong understanding of API design, event-driven architectures, and asynchronous messaging.
- Experience operating high-traffic, latency-sensitive systems in production.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms and managed services across at least one major provider.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead architecture initiatives spanning multiple teams.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with platform engineering and internal developer platform construction.
- Familiarity with Istio, Linkerd, Envoy, or comparable service mesh technologies.
- Exposure to FinOps practices and cloud cost optimization at scale.
- Public speaking, open-source contributions, or published technical writing.
- Experience in regulated industries with strict compliance requirements.
