Job Summary
 

The future is bright for the Porch Group, and we'd love for you to be a part of it as our Accountant.

We're excited about building out our finance and accounting function and are seeking a versatile, adaptable, and collaborative Accountant to join our highly skilled team. You will utilize your accounting knowledge and experience to ensure best practices and standards are met on a regular basis as Porch builds its internal processes. We have a variety of accountant roles including opportunities in revenue accounting, our insurance division, and shared services (corporate), and this role will play a key part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. What You Will Do As An Accountant

  • Work independently, performing professional accounting activities related to general accounting and other assigned functions.
  • Reconcile account balances for assigned balance sheet accounts to provide underlying support, and either independently or with the assistance of others, research and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and process accounting journal entries for assigned accounts within established deadlines, working with others within Accounting, Finance, or across the organization as needed to obtain necessary details or resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare assigned flux comments related to the income statement and balance sheet.
  • Take initiative to become proficient in the general ledger system and other reporting tools to run trial balances or account details to aid in research or refine processes, while developing a solid understanding of accounting processes and controls.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations as assigned.
  • Prepare financial data as directed and assist with preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports.
  • Support management with ad hoc requests.
  • Partner with internal teams to maintain processes and controls related to assigned areas of work.
  • Participate in the annual, quarterly, and monthly process with SOX and internal audit teams.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal policies, relevant regulations, and accounting principles.

What You Will Bring As An Accountant

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, with a minimum of 3 years' relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word & PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, virtual environment requiring self-motivation and adaptability.
  • Prior NetSuite and FloQast experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of Fixed Assets, Cash, Accruals, Lease accounting, accounting for Payroll and Accounts Payable, Intercompany Accounting, Prepaids, Capitalized Software, and debt (Shared Services requirements).
  • Proven experience working with US based business teams.
  • Excellent written and communication skills in the English language.
  • Working Hours: 8 Hours (Excluding breaks)
    4 Core US Hours Overlap (7:30pm–11:30pm IST)
    4 flexible hours (IST)
  • Workspace: A quiet space to work, an internet connection of at least 30 Mbps download | 10 Mbps upload.

What You Will Get As A Porch Group Team Member
 

Pay Range: ₹1,068,800 – ₹1,496,300 INR annually
