Mobile Technical Lead (Engineering Lead)

Role Summary

Our Client is seeking a Mobile Technical Lead to provide hands-on leadership across our mobile engineering initiatives. This individual will serve as the onsite technical leader responsible for driving mobile application strategy, architecture, delivery, and team development across both iOS and Android platforms .

The ideal candidate combines strong leadership capabilities with deep mobile engineering expertise, bringing experience in React Native , API integrations, cloud-native architectures, and modern AI-assisted software development practices. The role requires a leader who can elevate the team's technical capabilities while remaining actively involved in solution design and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms.
• Serve as the technical authority for mobile architecture, engineering standards, and development best practices.
• Drive technical decision-making, architecture reviews, and application modernization initiatives.
• Ensure scalable, secure, and high-performing mobile solutions.

Team Leadership & Mentorship

• Mentor and develop a team of mobile engineers, including offshore and distributed resources.
• Conduct code reviews and establish engineering standards.
• Elevate overall team skill levels through coaching, knowledge-sharing, and adoption of emerging technologies.

Solution Delivery

• Partner closely with:
  • Product Managers
  • Business Analysts
  • Engineering Teams
  • Executive and Business Stakeholders
  • Other tech leads to set standards, governance, scalability, etc.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Drive sprint planning, estimation, technical roadmaps, and delivery milestones.
• Ensure high-quality, timely releases for mobile applications.

Cloud & Integration

• Lead integration efforts between mobile applications and enterprise systems.
• Design and oversee secure API integrations and service orchestration patterns.
• Collaborate with cloud and backend teams to support modern mobile architectures.

AI & Engineering Innovation

• Champion the adoption of AI-powered developer productivity tools.
• Evaluate and leverage technologies such as:
  • Cursor
  • Claude
  • GitHub Copilot
  • Other AI-assisted engineering platforms
• Educate and mentor engineering teams on responsible and effective AI usage in software development workflows.

Required Experience & Skills

Leadership Experience

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Minimum 3+ years leading engineering teams or technical initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience managing distributed and cross-functional teams.

Mobile Engineering Expertise

• Strong experience developing enterprise mobile applications on:
  • iOS
  • Android
• Deep knowledge of:
  • React Native
  • Mobile application architecture patterns
  • Mobile performance optimization
  • App Store and Google Play deployment processes

Technical Skills

• Strong JavaScript and TypeScript expertise.
• Experience with:
  • React Native
  • RESTful APIs
  • API integrations
  • Node.js preferred
• Solid understanding of full-stack application architecture.
• Experience integrating mobile applications with enterprise backend systems.

Cloud Technologies

• Experience working within modern cloud environments such as:
  • AWS

• Understanding of cloud-native application design, security, and scalability principles.

AI & Emerging Technologies

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, including:
