Job description

Payroll Specialist - Remote

Support Payroll Operations - Support the accurate and timely processing of payroll operations for U.S. employees using Rippling. Assist with full-cycle payroll processing while maintaining accurate employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, pay adjustments, leaves of absence, and paid time off. Support time tracking validation and overtime calculations to help ensure payroll is processed accurately and efficiently.

Ensure Payroll Accuracy & Financial Integrity - Support payroll-related financial processes by assisting with general ledger account reconciliations and month-end close activities. Help maintain accurate payroll data through careful review, reconciliation, and attention to detail.

Maintain Compliance & Reporting - Support compliance with federal and state tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and benefits requirements. Assist with internal and external payroll audits, research discrepancies, and generate standard payroll reports for Finance and People teams.

Partner Across the Business - Serve as a first point of contact for routine employee payroll questions related to pay, taxes, and deductions. Collaborate closely with Finance and People teams to support onboarding, offboarding, and the ongoing maintenance of employee payroll data.

Required Experience:
  • 1–3 years of experience in payroll administration.
  • Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems, including Rippling.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite is preferred but not required.
  • Understanding of federal and state payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail with experience in data entry, reconciliation, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
  • Multistate U.S. payroll experience is important
  • Rippling experience is strongly preferred
  • Payroll-accounting experience, including reconciliations and month-end support, is preferred
  • NetSuite experience is helpful but not required
