Job description

Zoetis Canada is looking for a Field Service Specialist responsible for managing the Hatchery In Ovo Process which will be accomplished through execution of our Best-in-Class Customer Service Programs.  This position will perform preventive maintenance on electrical/mechanical equipment (Biodevices) in poultry hatcheries.  This position will also perform emergency repairs, at the customer location, as needed. 

This position is located in British Columbia with a preference for the Abbotsford area.

Further responsibilities include:

  • Managing the Hatchery In Ovo Process on behalf Zoetis in an assigned territory of 5-8 hatcheries
  • Administering the Preventive Maintenance Program for 10-15 commercially placed devices
  • Providing electrical/mechanical support and perform emergency repairs as needed.
  • Being available for afterhours support and repairs 24/7.
  • Managing the Zoetis Operator Training Program for 25+ people (customer employees)
  • Facilitating the vaccine and sanitation preparation program for all Zoetis Devices
  • Supporting and conducting the execution of the Zoetis Process Evaluation Program
  • Leading communications with hatchery management
  • Collecting and reporting important information within Zoetis CRM System
  • Completing relevant reporting forms and procedures including scheduling visits, customer site contacts, parts usage priorities, site cart management, certification program, vehicle and equipment maintenance within assigned time period.
  • Following safety/precautionary procedures.
  • Maintaining regular communication with supervisor
  • Other duties as Assigned

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in poultry science or related field from an accredited institution or associates degree in Electro/Mechanical Systems or related curriculum (experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirement
  • 2 - 5 years of related experience.         
  • Strong electrical / mechanical aptitude
  • Proficient organizational skills
  • Self-motivator and self-starter
  • Strong critical thinking problem solving, judgment, and initiative
  • Effective communication skills are necessary to interact directly with multiple levels of customer management
  • Basic computer skills using Word / Excel / and Outlook and basic PLC skills
  • Ability to travel 60 to 80% of the time
  • Available for on-call work outside of working hours

Base Pay Range: $68,000 - $80,000

This position is eligible for short-term incentive compensation.

  • Remplir les formulaires et procédures de rapport pertinents, y compris la planification des visites, les contacts du site client, les priorités d'utilisation des pièces, la gestion du chariot du site, le programme de certification, l'entretien des véhicules et de l'équipement dans les délais impartis.
  • Suivre les procédures de sécurité/précaution.
  • Maintenir une communication régulière avec le superviseur

 Le candidat idéal aura les qualifications suivantes :

  • Baccalauréat en sciences avicoles ou dans un domaine connexe d'une institution accréditée ou diplôme d'associé en systèmes électromécaniques ou programme connexe (l'expérience peut être considérée à la place de l'exigence de formation
  • 2 à 5 ans d'expérience connexe.
  • Fortes aptitudes électriques/mécaniques
  • Excellentes compétences organisationnelles
  • Auto-motivateur et auto-démarreur
  • Fort esprit critique, résolution de problèmes, jugement et esprit d'initiative
  • Des compétences de communication efficaces sont nécessaires pour interagir directement avec plusieurs niveaux de gestion de la clientèle
  • Compétences informatiques de base en utilisant Word / Excel / et Outlook et compétences de base en PLC
  • Capacité à voyager 60 à 80% du temps
  • Disponible pour du travail sur appel en dehors des heures de travail
