Are you as enthusiastic for quality in software development as we are – combined with knowledge on how to work closely with software engineers? Do you want to impact software which makes the world a safer place, while securing people through advanced technology? And do you have a passion for early holistic testing within a collaborative software team of developers, testers, and other specialists? Then come and join us!
We are facing an exciting future with considerable growth and demanding changes, as we deliver advanced technologies and mission critical solutions for the defense and aerospace industry. Our systems provide security for people on land, at sea and in the air. Therefore, we are looking for an Advanced Software Test Engineer to become part of this journey and contribute to our overall purpose – securing people through advanced technology.
Your role in our team
As our new Advanced Software Test Engineer in the Effectors and Engagement team, you will play an important role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software solutions. You will collect and refine technical knowledge, plan and coordinate test activities, and act as a trusted sparring partner for colleagues both within and outside your team.
In this role, you will validate defense scenarios and critical software changes while supporting and challenging the team in how code is tested. You will contribute to successful project delivery through close collaboration with your Scrum team, our wider test community, and the Test Management team, drawing on shared methods, automation, processes, and specialist knowledge.
You will join a Scrum team within our Defense organization and collaborate with more than 150 highly skilled and supportive technical experts in an area of significant strategic importance to Terma.
How you will make a meaningful contribution
Your key responsibilities include:
-
- Plan and execute test activities for defense scenarios and critical system changes
- Take responsibility for test planning and contribute to quality assurance throughout the development lifecycle
- Act as a trusted sparring partner, challenging and supporting the team to improve testing practices and sharing your knowledge across the team
- Collaborate with Test Management, and the broader test community to improve testing methods, automation, and processes
- Mentor junior software test engineers and contribute to a strong testing culture
Bring your world class expertise into play
You are fluent in English both in writing and verbal at a professional level. Danish is an advantage but not a requirement. Moreover, we are also looking for a new colleague who:
-
- Holds a relevant degree in engineering or a similar technical field
- Has experience with software testing and knows how to apply the right testing approach at the right stage of development. The key is to be both pragmatic and persistent at the same time
- Has experience working in agile development environments and understands the value of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
- Can manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Has a genuine passion for testing and enjoy sharing your knowledge while continuously learning from others
- If you have a certification in software testing principles, such as ISTQB, TMAP or experience with risk-based testing and test design techniques, this will be considered an advantage, but not a requirement.
As a person, you are passionate, dedicated, and committed to following tasks through to completion. You thrive in a complex and highly specialized environment and are motivated by identifying better and more effective ways of working. You enjoy supporting your team, contributing to a positive working environment, and communicating proactively with both colleagues and stakeholders.
