Job description

LOCATION: Remote (San Diego Preferred | Hybrid M/W if Local)
COMPENSATION: $25.00 - $30.00/hour
Compensation within this range will be determined based on experience, skills, geographical location, and internal equity considerations.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time (6-Month Contract-to-Hire)
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Payroll & Billing Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting Eastridge's centralized Payroll & Billing Operations team by ensuring employees are paid accurately and clients are billed timely and correctly. You'll partner closely with internal branch teams to resolve payroll and billing inquiries while supporting a variety of operational and administrative processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

  • Audit employee timecards and process weekly payroll for assigned branches.
  • Process billing and invoicing while ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, invoice issues, and billing adjustments.
  • Process stop payments, voids, and off-cycle payroll checks as needed.
  • Complete employment verifications, check verifications, unemployment claims, and garnishment requests.
  • Confirm invoice requirements with new clients and maintain accurate billing records.
  • Process Direct Hire and liquidation invoicing.
  • Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 corrections and reporting.
  • Maintain accurate payroll and billing records within Avionté and Excel.
  • Respond to payroll and billing inquiries from internal branch teams while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Assist with operational reporting and other projects as assigned.
  • Accurately document work and maintain compliance with company policies and payroll procedures.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2+ years of experience in payroll, billing, accounting support, administrative operations, staffing, HR, or a related operational support role.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately process high-volume transactions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-service mindset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAD THESE:

  • Previous staffing industry experience.
  • Payroll processing or timekeeping experience.
  • Billing, invoicing, or accounts receivable experience.
  • Experience auditing timecards or payroll records.
  • Experience using Avionté, ADP, or other payroll/HRIS systems.
  • Knowledge of payroll compliance, employment verifications, unemployment claims, or garnishments.
  • Experience supporting multiple internal stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Travel is not expected for this position.
