Job description

Would you like to take ownership of cross-functional projects and help drive collaboration across Terma? In this role, you will connect people, processes, and priorities to deliver results and create value across the organization.
Come and join us!

We are facing an exciting future with considerable growth and demanding changes, as we deliver advanced technologies and mission critical solutions for the defense and aerospace industry. Our systems provide security for people on land, at sea and in the air. Therefore, we are looking for Associate Project Manager to become part of this journey and contribute to our overall purpose – securing people through advanced technology.

Your role in our team

As our new Associate Project Manager, you will take the next step from coordination into broader delivery responsibility, with a particular focus on cross-functional tasks and projects that connect departments across Terma.

In this role, you will take ownership of work packages and subprojects that sit at the intersection of multiple functions. You will coordinate with stakeholders across teams and departments, align priorities, and drive progress with growing autonomy and accountability. This means bringing together colleagues with very different skills and backgrounds around a shared goal and staying genuinely curious about how each part of the organization works. Much of this work centers on building capabilities, strengthening governance, and enabling collaboration across departments - connecting people and processes that don not naturally sit within a single function.

You will be part of a dedicated team in Program Excellence (PrX) where delivery ambition and people development go hand in hand. We care for each other, for our customers, and for the societies we serve - and here you will build the experience and accountability that forms the foundation for full Project Manager responsibility.

How you will make a meaningful contribution

Your key responsibilities include:

      • Coordinating work packages and leading subprojects that span multiple departments and functions
      • Driving forward cross-departmental initiatives that build capabilities, strengthen governance, and enable collaboration across Terma
      • Managing reporting, compliance, and progress tracking across interconnected, cross-functional workstreams
      • Contributing actively to project planning, scheduling, and milestone management across teams
      • Identifying, monitoring, and following up on risks, issues, and dependencies that cross organizational boundaries
      • Communicating proactively with stakeholders across departments to maintain alignment and transparency
      • Driving consistent adherence to project standards and governance practices across the organization
      • Contributing to continuous improvement of execution methods and cross-functional project processes within PrX

Bring your world class expertise into play

You are fluent in English both in writing and verbal at a professional level. Danish is an advantage but not a requirement. Moreover, we are also looking for a new colleague with the following qualifications:

      • You hold a degree in engineering, business administration, or another relevant field - or equivalent practical experience
      • You have 2-5 years of experience in project coordination, project management, or a related delivery-focused role, ideally involving cross-functional or cross-departmental work
      • Solid understanding of project execution principles, work package management, and progress reporting
      • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across teams, functions, and departments, and engage stakeholders at different levels
      • A genuine interest in how different disciplines and skillsets fit together, and a collaborative mindset that treats every colleague's contribution as equally valuable
      • Experience with project management tools and methodologies is an advantage

As a person, you are structured, detail-oriented, and thrive in complex environments where you can manage multiple cross-functional workstreams simultaneously. You take ownership of your responsibilities, follow through on commitments, and proactively drive progress while maintaining a strong focus on quality and delivery. Collaborative by nature, you build strong relationships across functions and enjoy bringing together colleagues with different perspectives and expertise to achieve shared goals. You are naturally curious, and seek to understand how different parts of the organization work together, enabling you to create alignment, navigate complexity, and continuously identify opportunities to improve ways of working.

We are an international company representing world-class expertise, delivering complex and high-tech products. We value our colleagues and our meaningful contributions to securing people through advanced technology. You will also experience that we have a strong focus on your development, teaching you useful new competences and further strengthening current ones, both professionally and personally. Our company culture is autonomous and engaging, and we acknowledge the importance of flexibility in a great working environment.

When joining Terma, we promise that you will experience: Great people, challenging tasks, world-class expertise, and meaningful contribution in your daily work.
