If you enjoy solving complex technical challenges, influencing multidisciplinary teams, and continuously improving the way engineering is performed - this could be the right opportunity for you.
We are facing an exciting future with considerable growth and demanding changes, as we deliver advanced technologies and mission critical solutions for the defense and aerospace industry. Our systems provide security for people on land, at sea and in the air. Therefore, we are looking for a Systems Engineer to become part of this journey and contribute to our overall purpose – securing people through advanced technology.
Your role in our team
As a Systems Engineer within Maritime & Land Projects, you will play a central role in defining technical solutions for some of our advanced defense systems. You will take ownership of technical decisions within assigned system areas while ensuring alignment with the overall system architecture.
You will be driving systems engineering activities throughout the complete product lifecycle - from early concept and proposal work to system development, integration, verification and customer delivery. You will also be facilitating technical discussions and balancing competing viewpoints to achieve the best overall solution.
Working with a broad landscape of stakeholders, you are comfortable engaging with specialists across disciplines. You are also comfortable balancing different levels of abstraction; one moment discussing details and the next helping shape the overall solution.
You will become part of a team of 9 colleagues consisting of system engineers where the focus is on projects within the Maritime and Land domain. We are usually the first point of contact for projects coming into the integrated product development department where clarification of projects and support to Sale happens. We have an informal working environment where collaborations are key.
How you will make a meaningful contribution
Your key responsibilities include:
-
-
- Translating customer needs into clear, robust, and achievable technical solutions and identifying technical risks, assumptions, and dependencies early
- Collaborating across engineering disciplines and stakeholders to ensure integrated system designs
- Acting as technical owner for one or more system areas, ensuring technical consistency across software, hardware and operational requirements.
- Defining/supporting system architecture, requirements engineering, trade studies, and technical decision-making.
- Contributing to proposal work, engineering estimates, and technical planning
- Helping improve engineering processes, methods, and collaboration across the organization
-
Bring your world class expertise into play
You are fluent in English both in writing and verbal at a professional level. Danish is an advantage but not a requirement. Moreover, we are also looking for a new colleague with the following qualifications:
-
-
- You likely hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, Physics, or another relevant technical discipline
- You have a solid background in systems engineering and enjoy working with technically complex products
- Experience within maritime, aerospace, defense, or other safety-critical industries is an advantage, but more important is your ability to understand complex systems and collaborate across disciplines
-
Experience with one or more of the following are significant/important:
-
-
- Systems Engineering methodologies
- Requirements Engineering
- System Architecture
- Interfacing technology/standards
- Distributed software systems
-
It is an advantage, but not a requirement, if you have knowledge of Linux and relevant industry standards such as MIL-STDs. As well as MBSE/INCOSE, sensor integration, safety-critical systems and proposal development.
Technical skills matter, but your mindset matters even more. As a person, you combine strong technical capabilities with curiosity and an open and modern systems engineering mindset – continuously looking for better ways of solving problems. You are a team player and understand that the best engineering solutions are created by diverse teams working toward a common goal. You can simplify complexity and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders as well as combining deep technical curiosity with systems thinking, knowing when to dive into the details. Finally, you optimize for the success of the complete system not for a single discipline.
