Would you like to turn complex customer needs into solutions that make a real operational difference? In this role, you will help shape the continued development of JIMAPS and guide the work from requirements to delivery. Come and join us
We are facing an exciting future with considerable growth and demanding changes, as we deliver advanced technologies and mission critical solutions for the defense and aerospace industry. Our systems provide security for people on land, at sea and in the air. Therefore, we are looking for Advanced Systems Engineer to become part of this journey and contribute to our overall purpose – securing people through advanced technology.
Your role in our team
As our new Advanced Systems Engineer, you will help drive the continued development of JIMAPS, our platform for military intelligence. You will turn customer needs into clear tasks and work closely with developers, project managers, test engineers and customer-facing colleagues to move solutions from idea to delivery.
You will bring structure and direction to the systems engineering work, stay involved through testing and delivery, and contribute to proposals and future opportunities.
This is an informal lead role, where you will be the only senior systems engineer in the team and help set the direction for the discipline. You will not have people-management responsibility, and line management sits with the team manager.
The role includes occasional travel within Denmark and approximately one international trip per year.
You will become part of a 16-person JIMAPS team in Lystrup, consisting of systems engineers, software engineers and test specialists, supported by student workers and external consultants. The team works closely across disciplines and shares responsibility for shaping solutions.
How you will make a meaningful contribution
Your key responsibilities include:
-
- Own requirements, architecture and design within your work packages, in Codebeamer.
- Break large work packages - often 1000+ hours - into technical pieces the development team can execute, together with the project manager and with input from the developers themselves.
- Establish and maintain test sites and own the interface toward test - driving test planning with the test engineer and developers, and staying engaged through verification even though execution sits with test.
- Translate customer needs into technical solutions and communicate technical decisions clearly to non-specialists.
- Shape the technical path of the product alongside business development - supporting proposals with technical input and estimates and helping judge what is feasible and what it costs.
- Coach the other systems engineers in the team and set the standard for the discipline within JIMAPS.
Bring your world class expertise into play
You are fluent in English both in writing and verbal at a professional level. Danish is an advantage but not a requirement. Moreover, we are also looking for a new colleague with the following qualifications:
-
- You hold a Bachelor´s or Master´s degree in Engineering, Natural Sciences or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in systems engineering.
- You have minimum 7 years’ experience in system development, including 3+ years owning system-level specifications for a delivered product.
- Proven ability to decompose complex systems into manageable components and solve problems structurally.
- Solid understanding of software development - architecture, interfaces and the development lifecycle - enough to challenge and qualify technical solutions with developers, not merely relay requirements.
- Experience producing system-level specifications in close cooperation with software developers.
- Experience working in a requirements management tool - we use Codebeamer.
As a person, you are comfortable working with incomplete information and can turn a described situation into something the team can act on. You are structured, take ownership and are able to make clear decisions without relying on formal authority. You communicate technical topics in a way that both specialists and non-specialists can understand, and you stay engaged throughout the process, including the handover to testing and verification.
