JOB DESCRIPTION

Experience: Senior level shall have at least ten years of experience in GIS and related development. Experience in GIS concepts, computer graphics fundamentals, and relational database fundamentals and concepts is essential. Must have experience in the development of complex analysis and mapping projects. Must be proficient in the coding of software and manipulating digital databases as well as using GIS programming languages, Internet markup languages, and other, pertinent technologies. Must have the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical computer users, both orally and in writing. In addition to the above requirements, leads application development team. Works with other members of a program team (i.e. infrastructure, security, etc.) to ensure applications meet Client IT requirements.
REQUIRED TO HAVE a minimum of 8 years GIS development for law enforcement, immigration, or border security

Responsibilities: Full-time support. Staff in this category work independently to develop GIS tools and applications, perform complex analyses, and develop multi- layered maps accomplished by using an appropriate combination of tools found in the GIS application suite and other programming environments. Design and implement data conversion procedures and perform software and database quality control. Work closely with the GIS user community to determine specific application requirements and specifications. Perform project planning, requirements analysis, database design and development, and quality assurance and quality control.

Education: BS Degree preferred
