Job description

About Us

Youth Enrichment Brands (YEB) is the nation's leading youth activities platform, serving over 1 million kids each year through camps, classes, leagues, and lessons. Our family of brands — including i9 Sports, School of Rock, Safesplash Swim Schools, and US Sports Camps (the official provider of Nike Camps) share a single mission: to help as many kids as possible discover and develop their passion while building critical skills for life.

i9 Sports, the nation's largest multi-sport youth league provider, operates in communities across the country with over 5 million registrations. We deliver age-appropriate, fun, and convenient programming rooted in our mission to help kids succeed in life through sports.

About the Role

The Director of Performance will be the right hand to the VP of Operations, owning the performance management of our franchise network end-to-end. This means leading and developing a team of Franchise Business Coaches, modernizing how we think about the sales funnel, and partnering closely with franchise owners to raise the ceiling on what great looks like across every market.

What You’ll Own

Network performance

  • Set, track, and drive KPIs across the franchise network including registration volume, revenue per territory, season-over-season retention, and multi-sport participation rates
  • Build and maintain performance dashboards that give the VP of Operations and home office leadership a clear, real-time view of network health
  • Identify underperforming markets early and deploy targeted intervention plans in partnership with FBCs
  • Own the annual and seasonal performance planning cycle, including goal-setting frameworks and accountability rhythms across the network

FBC team leadership

  • Directly manage and develop the Franchise Business Coach team by setting expectations, coaching to outcomes, and building a high-performance culture on the team
  • Design and implement a consistent FBC operating cadence: visit schedules, coaching call structures, reporting standards, and escalation paths
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex franchisee performance conversations and turnaround situations
  • Partner with training and operations to continuously sharpen the FBC playbook

Sales funnel evolution

  • Lead the evolution of how i9 Sports thinks about the franchisee sales funnel from initial registration campaigns through repeat enrollment and multi-sport upsell
  • Develop a clearer model for how franchise owners (ADs) engage with and move prospective players through the funnel, ensuring FBCs are coaching to this approach consistently
  • Partner with marketing to align field-level execution with brand campaigns and seasonal promotions
  • Introduce data-driven segmentation so that coaching conversations are tailored to where each franchisee is in their growth arc

Strategic partnership

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the VP of Operations by proactively surfacing network trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Lead special projects to modernize performance management infrastructure, including tools, processes, and reporting
  • Represent the operations team in cross-functional initiatives with marketing, training, tech, and franchise development
  • Contribute to the long-range operating strategy as the brand scales

 What We’re Looking For

  • 5–8+ years of experience in franchise operations, field performance, or a related multi-unit business environment
  • Proven track record of leading field-based teams (FBCs, district managers, area coaches, or similar) and driving measurable performance improvement
  • Strong commercial acumen, you understand how a franchise P&L works and can connect operational behaviors to business outcomes
  • Experience building or evolving a sales funnel process in a consumer-facing, enrollment-driven business
  • Natural coach and communicator, equally comfortable challenging a high performer and rebuilding confidence in a struggling franchisee
  • Analytically fluent; you know how to work with data, build dashboards, and draw insights without needing a data team to do it for you
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage a broad portfolio and stay on top of what matters most
  • Passion for the i9 Sports mission, making youth sports fun, accessible, and positive for kids and families

Nice to Have

  • Experience with youth sports, recreation, or family-focused consumer brands
  • Background in franchise development or having been a franchisee yourself
  • Familiarity with CRM or performance management platforms used in franchise networks

Why This Role

This isn’t a maintenance role. You’ll be coming in at a moment when i9 Sports is ready to evolve how it manages performance — with a VP who wants a true thought partner and a network that’s primed to grow. The FBC team will look to you for direction, the franchise owners will feel your impact directly, and the work you do will show up in how millions of kids experience sports in their communities.
