Job description

Job brief

Our client is a global educational powerhouse renowned for its expertise in overseas study preparation and language training. With a presence spanning multiple continents, this industry leader operates a vast network of self-owned educational centers.

For decades, they have been dedicated to providing academic tutoring and foundation programs, meeting the diverse needs of students eyeing international education. Their services cover a wide array of countries, from Europe to Asia, and they are particularly well-versed in the educational landscapes of these regions.

As a crucial member of the academic leadership team, you will take charge of end-to-end IB-aligned teaching operations, with a focus on managing the full spectrum of IB programmes. Your core mission will be to establish robust academic standards, recruit and mentor talented IB educators, and ensure the delivery of high-quality tutoring services that cater to the specific needs of international students in Singapore.

Responsibilities

  • Design and launch comprehensive IB curriculum frameworks (covering all stages of the IB continuum), lesson plans, and assessment systems that align with IBO standards and address the unique learning requirements of international students studying in Singapore.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of IB teachers (subject specialists for various IB programme components), including setting performance metrics and fostering a collaborative teaching culture.
  • Oversee daily teaching operations, monitor class quality, and optimize instructional methods based on student feedback and academic outcomes, drawing on your own practical teaching experience.
  • Develop teacher professional development programs, ensuring the team stays updated on IB curriculum updates and best practices in international education.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders (e.g., IB examiners, local education consultants) to enhance program credibility and student support systems.

Requirements

  • Masters degree or higher.
  • 5+ years of experience in IB education, with proven expertise across the full range of IB programmes and hands-on teaching experience in IB settings.
  • Track record in building or scaling academic teams, preferably in international schools or education institutes in Singapore.
  • Deep understanding of IBO guidelines, assessment criteria, and recent curriculum reforms (e.g., DP curriculum updates 2024-2025).
  • Strong leadership skills to drive operational excellence: proactive problem-solving, strategic planning, and ability to thrive in a dynamic, results-oriented environment.
  • International study experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in English with fluent spoken skills; a score of 7.0 or above in IELTS or TEM-8 is highly desirable.
