Hour Consulting is hiring on behalf of our client : a profitable, founder-led Canadian real-estate technology company that sits at #1 in its category, is used by millions of Canadians, and is expanding across the country. It's bootstrapped (built on real revenue rather than venture funding) and deliberately AI-native. This is a leadership-team role reporting straight to the CEO.
We're looking for a VP, Product to own product end to end : the vision, the strategy, the roadmap, and the day-to-day execution engine that turns ideas into shipped, measurable value for millions of users. You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with the CEO and the senior engineering lead, guide a small, high-leverage product and design team, and carry the numbers that matter: growth, engagement, retention, monetization, and the overall quality of the consumer experience. As the company expands across Canada, product is central to getting each new market right.
Idea to impact. Take the hardest user and business problems, frame them, design the answer, ship it, and prove the result.
The product scorecard. Carry full accountability for growth, engagement, retention, monetization, and experience quality.
AI in the build, not on the sidelines. Use AI as a working partner and ship AI-powered experiences yourself rather than handing them off.
A team that compounds. Raise the bar for your product and design partners, grow the org as it scales, and operate as a genuine peer to engineering.
Expansion that lands. Shape the product decisions that win each new region and user segment.
This is a seat for someone who has already done it at scale not someone hoping to grow into it. The strongest candidates bring:
Proven product leadership at scale 8+ years in product, 3+ leading it (VP / Head of Product / CPO), having rebuilt product orgs and operating systems that genuinely scaled.
A truly AI-native way of working you use AI daily and have built or shipped AI-powered features with your own hands, not buzzword-deep.
Real product craft vision, sharp prioritization, evidence-driven discovery, disciplined shipping, and taste you can see in what you've launched — at consumer scale (millions of users).
Commercial instinct and data fluency you set commercial strategy and dig into the numbers yourself to move growth, retention, and monetization.
Comfort operating across time zones and cultures (the team spans North America and Asia).
Eligibility to work in Canada without sponsorship, based in or willing to relocate to Canada (the role is fully remote nationwide), with excellent written and spoken English.
Experience in a consumer marketplace, fintech, proptech, or another transaction-heavy consumer platform.
A founder or early-stage builder background you've taken something from zero and owned the outcome.
Product leadership tied to multi-market or geographic expansion.
