Job description

 

We are looking for a Technical Analyst to join the Product Management team at Densify.  You will develop, customize, and support analytics for optimizing and transforming our customers’ use of public cloud, container, and virtualized infrastructure.  

 

As a member of the Densify Product Management team, you will be exposed to the full product development lifecycle from product strategy inception down to specific sets of engineering tasks.  This role delivers an exciting mix of classic Product Management duties that focus on strategy, requirements and writing product stories as well as hands-on tasks that deliver a chance to code, do detailed technical design, and build prototype solutions.  As a member of the Product Management Team, you will collaborate with the Engineering, Services, and Documentation teams.   

 

General Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all aspects of analytics and metadata package development including design and implementation of components, component integration, unit testing, basic documentation, etc.
  • Work with other team members, to support and manage periodic updates to Densify’s public cloud catalog/metadata information while maintaining high-accuracy deliverables using existing, and designing new, scripts and/or utilities to automate validation and updates.        A lot of flexibility is given in this area with opportunities to code as much or as little as you desire, the ability to establish your own goals, and participate in tooling/platforms decisions.
  • Develop a good understanding of infrastructure offerings from major Cloud vendors like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud (GCP), etc. for the purpose of being able to quantify these offerings as metadata to be used in optimization assessments.  You will leverage Cloud APIs and other means of collecting data from/about public cloud offerings.
  • Understand all aspects of Densify Container Optimization solution from how data is collected to how optimization recommendations are produced and actioned.  Help drive product adoption and facilitate new product features for Kubernetes and AWS ECS optimization.
  • Work with services team members, other Densify employees and customers to capture and review policy settings used in various customer engagements e.g. Cloud Optimizations, Cloud Migrations, Containers Transformations, Infrastructure Optimization, etc.
  • Investigate and address related issues identified by QA and other team members.
  • Work with engineering team to help integrate new product features into analytics and metadata packages.
  • Get involved in prototyping activities requiring package/analytics customizations to quickly address new requirements.
  • Duties and responsibilities may change in accordance with the needs of the team as well as your talents and interests. You may be required to carry out any other associated tasks to ensure the successful delivery of Densify’s objectives.

Requirements & Desired Skills:

  • Experience with software deployment and associated tools (e.g. source code management systems, code development frameworks etc.) 
  • Ability to perform independent research on new technologies, present learnings, and how they may be advantageous to Densify.
  • Proficiency in one or more of the major scripting languages (e.g. Golang, PowerShell, etc.)  and leveraging REST APIs with these tools
  • Conceptual knowledge of Cloud Computing and Public Cloud Platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP) including the APIs
  • Conceptual knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware, RedHat OpenShift, etc.
  • Understanding of Kubernetes and Kubernetes monitoring tools (e.g. Prometheus) is desirable
  • Must be able to grasp highly technical concepts quickly
  • Familiarity with the Agile/SCRUM software development process is an asset
  • Product Management experience is a benefit
  • Strong oral communication skills and technical writing skills
  • Strong team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced team atmosphere 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to efficiently work remotely (aka “work from home”) as this is our primary mode of operation
  • A B.S or M.S in Computer Science or a related field or relevant work experience
