Job description

Liftoff is a leading AI-powered performance marketing platform for the mobile app economy. Our end-to-end technology stack helps app marketers acquire and retain high-value users, while enabling publishers to maximize revenue across programmatic and direct demand.

Liftoff’s solutions, including Accelerate, Direct, Monetize, Intelligence, and Vungle Exchange, support over 6,600 mobile businesses across 74 countries in sectors such as gaming, social, finance, ecommerce, and entertainment. Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Redwood City, CA, Liftoff has a diverse, global presence.

About this role / team:

We’re looking for a talented Senior Financial Analyst to join our Deal Desk team within Strategic Finance. The Deal Desk team works cross-functionally with sales, accounting, analytics, corporate FP&A, and more to manage commercial agreements, from standard arrangements to complex, non-standard deals with strategic advertising partners.

This individual should be highly detail-oriented and comfortable managing complex business models and Excel/Google Sheets tracking files, with the ability to reconcile data across sources and improve the models and processes used to track revenue adjustments over time. This role will manage our weekly tracking files, be able to understand how to integrate complex deals into our financial forecasting models, partner with accounting to ensure accruals are accurate and timely, and speak to the “why” behind the financials.

It is critical that this individual is driven, self-motivated, a self-starter, can work independently with minimal supervision, and demonstrates both good judgment and confidentiality. This role will routinely build financial models tracking performance, craft customer-facing incentive deals to drive revenue, and work with sales to optimize performance and maximize margin on a deal by deal basis. This role requires the Senior Financial analyst to be able to comprehensively understand the mechanics of how our business generates revenue both in current and hypothetical future states.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage the company’s complex financial files used to track customer incentive programs and related revenue adjustments, ensuring they remain accurate, up to date, and reflective of the latest deal terms
  • Design Deal desk incentives: Work with the GTM organization to craft financial incentives for our customer base to drive incremental revenue that takes into account unique customer circumstances, needs, and performance
  • Analyze, discuss, and improve efficacy of deal desk: role helps build a quarterly post mortem to assess what financial incentives were successful vs. unsuccessful, how much accretive revenue was driven, and how deal desk strategy should be augmented in the future based on learnings
  • Strategic financial modeling: analyst will evaluate strategic initiatives of interest to the senior leadership team acting as the analytic engine to support decision making
  • Work cross-functionally to address data requests tied to high-impact initiatives, providing clarity on the organization’s business composition and key operational drivers
  • Tracking of adjustments to revenue due to customer incentives and accurately project out adjusted revenue based on deals live or expected to go live to present an accurate picture of anticipated financial performance
  • Work closely with Accounting during the monthly and quarterly close process to ensure revenue adjustments and customer incentive impacts are accurately and timely reflected in the financials
  • Serve as the owner of the company’s primary KPI file, ensuring accuracy and accessibility of the key metrics used in Board of Directors meetings, strategic planning, and other critical business reviews

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Finance or related field)
  • 5+ years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis, previous experience in corporate development, accounting, investment banking, strategy, a finance development program, deal desk, or consulting a plus
  • Extremely proficient in Excel / Google Sheets with strong modeling skills and attention to detail; comfortable managing complex files, with the ability to take ownership of them and transform them to improve efficiency and usability
  • Highly organized, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities across multiple stakeholders simultaneously, balancing short term / ad-hoc requests with long term projects
  • Understanding of accounting/financial statements and experience in valuation a plus
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Strong business judgment and desire to learn about underlying business
  • Understand complex data with the ability to present in a way that is easy to understand, including data visualization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as attention to detail
  • Experience with Tableau, Salesforce, Looker, or other comparable data visualization tools
