Your Day
* Guide the technical direction and implementation of large-scale product features
* Evaluate trade-offs between correctness, robustness, performance, and customer impact to ensure we build the right solution
* Collaborate with product, design, and engineering to influence product strategy and direction
* Ship well-tested, secure, reliable, and maintainable code while keeping our customers' best interests in mind
* React to how our product is used in the wild, and help fix bugs and production issues as they occur
* Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and complex bug fixes with security, performance, and reliability in mind
* Mentor and level up the skills of your teammates by sharing your expertise
* Develop strong client relationships to achieve a ‘trusted advisor’ status in helping them achieve their digital goals.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
* Magento 2 Expertise: Deep understanding of Magento 2 (Adobe Commerce) architecture, including dependency injection, plugins (interceptors), observers, and the Entity-Attribute-Value (EAV) model.
* Magento Frontend Architecture: Experience customizing Magento themes, XML layouts, and templates using UI components.
* PHP & OOP: Expert-level proficiency in PHP (specifically versions 7.4 to 8.x) and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
* Database Management: Advanced knowledge of MySQL/MariaDB, including writing, troubleshooting, and optimizing complex database queries for large-scale product catalogs.
* Custom Module Development: Proven ability to build, customize, and maintain complex Magento modules and extensions entirely from scratch following best practices.
* Core Web Technologies: Strong command of HTML5, CSS3/LESS, and JavaScript (Vanilla JS, jQuery).
* Modern JavaScript Frameworks: Familiarity with React.js, Vue.js, or Knockout.js.
* Headless Commerce (Preferred): Experience with Magento PWA Studio, Vue Storefront, or similar Progressive Web App frameworks for delivering modern, mobile-first experiences. System Integrations: Experience working with REST and GraphQL APIs to seamlessly connect third-party systems like ERPs, CRMs, payment gateways, and shipping providers.
* Performance Tuning & Security: Strong knowledge of caching mechanisms (Varnish, Redis), search engines (Elasticsearch/OpenSearch), and web security principles including PCI DSS compliance.
* Command Line & Tooling: Comfort navigating the command line, using Magento CLI tools, and managing dependencies via Composer. Familiarity with Git workflows.
