Job description

The primary function of this role is to support the buying team by managing costings, tenders, and supplier data, in addition to overseeing project management tasks and compliance documentation.

This position offers the unique opportunity to directly influence purchasing decisions through detailed analysis and management of costings and supplier performance. It also involves a significant level of responsibility in managing compliance and project timelines, providing a dynamic work environment.

  • Create and update costings from the quote sheets completed by suppliers, ensuring all data is accurately saved in a master file.
  • Review costings and tenders thoroughly and provide initial recommendations to assist the buying team in making informed decisions.
  • Assist with data retrieval and analysis as needed, focusing on collection performance and SKU performance to support buying strategies.
  • Manage the critical path for projects, ensuring all milestones are met on schedule.
  • Organize and send calendar invites for meetings and other important events.
  • File and manage inspection and test reports; oversee social compliance testing audits with suppliers to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to create detailed reports and provide insights based on data.
  • Proficiency in data management and experience using data analysis tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for coordinating with suppliers and team members.
  • Knowledge of compliance and testing procedures in a retail or similar environment.
  • Experience with project management software and tools.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality.
  • Proven track record of working effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Background in retail buying or supply chain management is highly desirable.
