Since 1967, Deibel Laboratories has operated several private food testing facilities providing services in both Microbiology and Chemistry testing. We play an integral role in food and product safety for industry-leading producers, as well as family-run operations much like our own. We are looking for well-organized and self-directed individuals focused on achieving organizational sales goals and marketing initiatives. 

We offer a competitive salary based on knowledge and experience. This position includes full health benefits for self and family (employer pays for 90% of employee premiums and 50% of dependents on our base plan). Deibel also offers a self-funded dental plan, vision plan, and 401K option.

Compensation: $70,000 - $85,000 DOE plus a competitive benefits package. 1.5% - 3% Commission on all sales and additional bonus potential up to $10k/yr based on sales objectives. 

Schedule: Full Time – Monday - Friday 9am -5:30pm (Nationwide Remote Opportunity)

(Occasional evening and/or weekend responsiveness will be required.) 

Overview:

This position requires continual interaction with our Client Services Team, Technical Sales Team, Senior Management, and new and existing clients to satisfy internal and external customer expectations. Must be able to maintain a high level of urgency, while at the same time, maintaining an extremely professional and diplomatic attitude with customers and Deibel co-workers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop a pipeline of leads and opportunities to drive future sales.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to ensure existing and prospective clients proceed through both client services and sales cycle steps and aid in assuring sales are maximized with each customer interaction. 
  • Will keep apprised of competitors’ pricing and marketing initiatives. Help develop solutions to client issues, prepare reports, and make constructive recommendations to management. 
  • Support targeted marketing campaigns to drive the development of new prospects.
  • Work with existing clients to maintain relationships and seek upsell opportunities. 
  • Will become an integral part of a team that strives for continuous improvement by encouraging, initiating and/or executing improvement ideas.
  • Will be responsible for maintaining the constant accuracy and integrity of our customer relationship management system. (SugarCRM)
  • Occasional travel will be required.  

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • 4 Years of Sales experience within the food or closely related industry. I.e., Biological, Chemical, or Pharmaceutical related
  • Maintain & develop a customer base and sales volume.
  • Energetic, motivated, and effective with a positive attitude that is conscientious, enthusiastic, articulate, and possesses a professional attitude.
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Must be willing to learn and keep current with the latest developments and technology in the industry.
  • Develop and expand the company presence in assigned regions.
  • Ideal candidates will have a science background or equivalent experience in a food plant quality department or food laboratory.
  • Must be self-motivated and driven to succeed under minimal supervision.

We'd Love to Hear from People Who Have:

  • A membership with International Association for Food Protection (IAFP) or at IAFP Annual Meetings
  • A membership in Food Safety Industry Trade Associations or Special Interest Groups
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Microbiology, Science, or Sales is preferred but not required
  • Four (4) years of direct B2B sales experience in the technical and/or food and beverage industry
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a strong technical aptitude
  • Experience with "Solution Selling" methodologies
  • Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office software 
  • A professional workplace appearance, ethical conduct, honesty, and integrity in all communications.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required. (Spanish is a plus)
