  • Lead the annual insurance renewal cycle: compile underwriting data, coordinate submissions, manage timelines, and prepare renewal recommendations.
  • Maintain strong broker and insurer relationships, ensuring service standards, responsiveness, and cost-effective solutions aligned with GGC’s risk appetite.
  • Assess coverage adequacy across lines (e.g., general liability, D&O, accident, property, crime/fidelity, event coverage, cyber where applicable) and recommend adjustments based on exposure changes and emerging risks.
  • Coordinate claims support: intake and triage, documentation collection, liaison with broker/insurer, status tracking, and trend analysis to inform prevention efforts.
  • Support incident reporting and risk controls by translating claims trends into practical prevention guidance and policy updates.
  • Ensure policies and processes are clear and practical from the end-user (volunteer and staff) perspective.
  • Be the point person for receiving, triaging and responding to insurance questions from Guiders.

Procurement System (Primary Focus)

  • Develop and maintain a Procurement System that includes:
  • Develop core policies to provide guidance to staff and volunteers vetting, negotiating, and contracting vendors, suppliers and rental companies
  • Provide initial vetting of medium and large contracts (ranges to be determined)
  • Create standard operating procedures, templates and checklists for procurements including event facility rental and RFPs
  • Evaluate and modernize tools (forms, workflows, shared drives, or system enhancements) that strengthen transparency and reduce administrative burden.
  • Ensure that systems are fit-for-purpose from the perspectives of both staff and volunteers

Broader ERM Support (Secondary Focus)

  • Contribute to risk identification and assessment activities (risk register updates, control mapping, mitigation planning) with emphasis on insurance and financial stewardship risks.
  • Prepare concise leadership-ready materials (briefings, decision notes, risk summaries) and support committee reporting as required.
  • Participate in business continuity and incident response planning where insurance/financial controls are implicated.
  • Other duties as assigned. This job will evolve and take on new responsibilities within the ERM department as systems are created and new risks emerge.
