Overview/Summary:
Our Client is a global professional services firm that provides engineering, design, construction, and consulting solutions across infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, energy, water, and government sectors.

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to support the design and development of industrial and facility systems. In this role, you will work closely with engineers, clients, and multidisciplinary project teams to develop design packages, coordinate across disciplines, and deliver high-quality construction documents. Depending on project size and complexity, you may serve as the lead designer for specific systems, buildings, or project areas while providing guidance and oversight to junior designers.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and coordinate mechanical system designs, layouts, and equipment arrangements for industrial and facility projects
  • Prepare project deliverables including 3D models, plans, details, sections, flow diagrams, P&IDs, sketches, and construction documents
  • Perform code research and participate in design reviews to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements
  • Coordinate designs with internal and external stakeholders to resolve conflicts and ensure seamless integration across disciplines
  • Conduct field surveys and verify existing conditions to support design development.
  • Review specifications and incorporate project requirements into design deliverables
  • Review and check design work for accuracy, quality, and completeness
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers and support engineers as needed
  • Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and coordination sessions with clients and project teams
  • Assist with labor estimates, submittal reviews, and other project support activities
  • Support engineering calculations and analysis under the direction of project engineers when required.

Primary Qualifications:
  • Associates degree in Computer Drafting & design, similar course, or related work experience
  • Experience in building mechanical design systems in semiconductor or related high tech type facilities
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience
  • Extensive modeling & drafting experience using Revit and AutoCAD (or other programs as necessary)
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant codes & standards
  • Navisworks expertise in model review
  • Deep knowledge of HVAC and related mechanical systems
