Job description

Why Join Aqovia?

We don’t just build software; we engineer impact. Aqovia is an international technology firm and strategic incubator creating real-world value through AI, data, and bespoke software solutions. By joining us, you’ll work within an innovative ecosystem that shapes the industries of tomorrow.

The Role

We are looking for a specialised Solutions Architect to champion our EdTech and LMS initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead technical discovery and architectural governance for high-impact digital transformation programmes within Pakistan.

Serving as the primary technical authority, you will convert complex business and academic requirements into resilient, scalable frameworks, guiding cross-functional engineering squads from inception through to deployment.

What You Will Do

  • Discovery & Solution Design: Evaluate legacy ecosystems, operational workflows, and infrastructure limitations (focusing on bandwidth optimization and high-volume traffic management).

  • LMS Architecture: Design sophisticated, high-scale LMS frameworks powered by Moodle and tailored EdTech innovations.

  • Technical Proposal & Specs: Formulate detailed architectural blueprints, including trade-off analyses, risk assessments, delivery timelines, and Azure cloud utilization projections.

  • Delivery Governance: Serve as the primary technical arbiter for engineering cohorts exceeding 20 developers, ensuring adherence to rigorous security and coding benchmarks.

  • Risk Mitigation: Proactively address architectural vulnerabilities, system bottlenecks, and technical debt.

What We Are Looking For

Essential Criteria:

  • Moodle Architecture: Profound technical proficiency in optimizing high-scale Moodle ecosystems, including custom plugin development and database schema management.

  • Leadership & Governance: Extensive background providing technical steering for large engineering teams (20+ developers) on enterprise-grade initiatives.

  • Development Stack: Deep mastery of the PHP landscape and Laravel framework to engineer resilient web architectures and scalable APIs.

  • Cloud Infrastructure: Strong familiarity with cloud-native environments, ideally Azure, encompassing microservices, containerization, and performance-tuned web configurations.

  • EdTech Standards: Hands-on experience implementing industry protocols (LTI, SCORM, xAPI) alongside complex Student Information System (SIS) integrations.

  • Communication: Strong consultative presence with the ability to translate technical complexities into value-driven insights for executive and academic stakeholders.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Prior involvement in large-scale public sector digital transformation or Higher Education Commission (HEC) initiatives within Pakistan.

  • Experience embedding AI capabilities (e.g., automated assessments or adaptive learning pathways) within digital education platforms.

  • Professional certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, TOGAF, or recognized Agile credentials.
