Job Overview: A prominent regional law firm is seeking a highly skilled Bankruptcy Attorney to join its North Carolina team. This role focuses on representing creditors' interests in both state and federal courts. The successful candidate will manage the full lifecycle of bankruptcy matters, collaborating with a dedicated support staff to ensure excellence in legal representation and client satisfaction.
Technical Skills & Qualifications:
  • Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensure: Active admission to the North Carolina Bar, including State, Federal, and Bankruptcy courts.
  • Filing Proficiency: Mandatory experience with CM/ECF filing credentials.
  • Specialized Expertise: Minimum of 2 years of direct experience representing creditors in bankruptcy and insolvency matters.
  • Legal Knowledge: In-depth understanding of secured creditor issues and the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.
Functional Responsibilities:
Case Management: Oversee all aspects of the bankruptcy process, including plan confirmations and motions for relief.
  • Litigation: Lead contested matters and adversary proceedings in state and federal courts.
  • Document Oversight: Review and approve statutorily required notices, correspondence, pleadings, and other legal instruments.
  • Advocacy: Attend and argue motions and hearings before courts throughout North Carolina.
  • Conflict Resolution: Participate in mediation sessions and respond efficiently to written inquiries or legal disputes.
  • Client Advisory: Provide strategic legal counsel to clients throughout the duration of bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Team Collaboration: Supervise and mentor support staff in the preparation of legal documentation.
