Our client is an established personal injury law firm with offices in Ottawa and Toronto — and a bold goal to become Ontario's largest PI firm. They've built a modern, technology-enabled practice that takes its case management seriously, supports its team, and fights hard for injured clients.
They're growing and looking for a Licensed Paralegal who's ready to step into a role with real impact. This isn't a task-taking position — it's an opportunity for someone who wants to own their caseload, advance files with purpose, and be part of something that's genuinely building toward something bigger.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Licensed Paralegal, you'll work side by side with lawyers to move both Tort and Accident Benefits (AB) files forward — with the kind of pace and discipline that gets real results for clients. You'll be the one connecting the dots between strategy and execution.
In practice, that means:
Managing and advancing a portfolio of Tort and AB files with consistent momentum
Preparing files for discoveries, mediations, and resolution in collaboration with lawyers
Conducting quarterly planning to ensure every case is progressing toward settlement or trial
Coordinating with medical experts, healthcare providers, and outside vendors on behalf of clients
Supporting and delegating to junior team members, articling students, and support staff
Contributing to firm-wide performance metrics and identifying bottlenecks before they slow things down
What You Bring
You're a seasoned paralegal with deep roots in plaintiff personal injury — both Tort and AB. You understand how to read a file, spot the velocity opportunities, and partner with lawyers to build cases that resolve well.
Non-negotiable requirements:
3+ years of Plaintiff personal injury litigation experience (Tort and AB) — this is mandatory
University degree — mandatory
Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario — mandatory
Beyond the credentials, you're someone who takes ownership seriously. You don't wait to be told what needs to happen next — you already know, and you move on it. You're emotionally intelligent with clients, direct with colleagues, and competitive on behalf of the people you're representing.
What they offer
$85,000 – $130,000+ total compensation
Hybrid or fully remote — work from anywhere in Ontario
Unlimited vacation, with a focus on results rather than hours logged
Full health, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability insurance
Firm-matching pension plan
