Senior I&C Verification & Validation Engineer (Advanced Nuclear)

Our client  is seeking a highly motivated Natrium Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Verification and Validation (V&V) Engineer that provides technical and planning leadership for V&V of Natrium digital I&C systems. The role is responsible for ensuring that V&V activities are planned and executed in accordance with the Natrium Digital System Quality Assurance Plan (DSQAP), system-specific V&V plans, and applicable codes, standards, and regulatory guidance. This position reports directly to the I&C Prorgrams Manager.

In this role, you will act as an I&C Engineer for Sodium Fast Reactor technologies, including interfacing with a team of scientists and engineers internal and external to the client. You will also identify, specify, and integrate custom instrumentation with advanced control systems for Generation IV advanced nuclear reactor technologies. Depending on the candidates' level of experience, the candidate will also lead designs of I&C systems, structures, and components and may lead the technical oversight of I&C suppliers and their scopes of work.
 

Key Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience designing and operating high-temperature (400°C and higher) processes.
• Experience overseeing or auditing supplier V&V programs, including review of V&V plans, procedures, and reports for compliance with contract and QA requirements.
• Prior work with advanced reactors, sodium cooled fast reactors, or other first of a kind nuclear or high hazard facilities.
• Has previously served as team lead or project engineer or project manager and coordinated technical delivery of projects and can function unsupervised and with extensive latitude for independent judgment. Takes initiative to identify future work, problems, and solutions.
• Familiarity with working with and/or developing industrial process flow diagrams (PFD) and piping & instrument diagrams (P&ID).
• Experience with CAD software to deliver design deliverables (e.g. AutoCAD Standard, AutoCAD Electrical, or SolidWorks).
• Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Attention to detail and aspiration for technical excellence.
• Ability to work on multiple simultaneous tasks that require a multi-disciplinary approach.
• Experience with formal I&C system startup testing procedure.
