Job Role: Senior Design Specialist (Commercial Fit-Out)

Compensation range: $1,500 AUD - $2,000 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote, so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: Our client is a commercial design and construction firm specialising in end-to-end workspace transformations. They deliver tailored fitout solutions across office, retail, and industrial environments, managing projects from concept design through to construction and handover. Their focus is on creating functional, high-quality spaces that align with client brand identity, operational needs, and project timelines.

Role Overview: The Senior Design Specialist will be involved in all phases of the design stage; from sales, all the way through to design, planning, compliance, finishes, furnishings to hand over. Leading individual projects with the Head of Design and working collaboratively with each department; estimating and projects. You will be a part of pitches, presentations, developing construction documentation sets, mood boards, obtaining clients briefs and liaising with consultants/clients.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in designs within the design and construct industry, specialising in office fitouts.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with clients, stakeholders and the team.
  • Strong management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail, creative vision, and have a keen eye for aesthetics.
  • Strong leadership skills to guide, mentor and direct team.
  • Proficiency in software such as Revit with understanding using Sketchup, Adobe Suites, Indesign and Photoshop
  • Understanding of building codes, safety standards, and other relevant regulations in the NCC and Australian Standards.
  • Passion for creating beautiful, functional and sustainable interior spaces
  • Excellent design visions
  • Strong communication skills to speak confidently with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a dynamic environment
