Job Role: Estimator

Compensation range: $1,800 AUD - $2,200 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have some flexibility in how you manage your time.


Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: The client is an Australia-based business operating in the civil pipeline infrastructure supply space, supporting a range of construction and project-based works with specialized materials, fabrication and solutions. As the business continues to grow, they are looking to strengthen their internal processes by bringing in someone who can improve estimation accuracy, streamline quoting workflows, and help maximize the use of their existing systems and tools.

Role Overview: This is a dual-focus role. Day to day you'll be processing quote requests through Cin 7 and getting accurate quotes out the door fast. Alongside that, you'll play a key part in helping us improve how we build out workflows that make it easier for the whole team to track jobs, orders, and supplier activity in one place. We're not fully set up yet, and we want someone who can help us get there.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Receive and process incoming quote requests, preparing accurate estimates based on product specs, quantities, and supplier pricing
  • Work within Cin 7 to manage inventory data, pricing, and quote generation
  • Work closely with the Business Development Manager
  • Build and send quotes in a timely manner to support the sales process
  • Liaise with suppliers to confirm pricing and lead times
  • Help design and build out Airtable workflows to track jobs, orders, and parts across multiple suppliers
  • Package jobs clearly, making it easy for anyone in the team to see where each part of a job is at
  • Identify bottlenecks in the current process and proactively suggest improvements
  • Maintain organised records and ensure nothing falls through the cracks as order volumes grow


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Solid estimating experience, ideally in plumbing, civil pipeline construction, supply, or a related trade or product-based industry
  • Hands-on experience with Cin 7 (inventory and quoting) is highly regarded
  • Experience building or managing workflows in Airtable is a strong advantage
  • Comfortable working with multiple systems and able to pick up new tools quickly
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently from quote requests or specifications
  • Good English communication skills — written and verbal
  • Experience working with Australian businesses is a plus
  • A systems-thinking mindset — you notice inefficiencies and want to fix them
