Job Role: Part-Time Bookkeeper (20 Hours per week)

Compensation range: $700 AUD - $900 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to require roughly 15-20 hours per week. As a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your schedule, but availability for occasional collaboration during AU business hours is preferred.

Who The Client Is: Our client is an Australian-based courier and logistics business that supports a wide range of delivery operations with a strong focus on efficiency, reliability, and service excellence. As the business continues to grow, they are looking for a dependable bookkeeping professional to support the finance function and help maintain smooth day-to-day accounting operations.

Role Overview: We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support the client’s daily bookkeeping and accounting processes on a part-time basis.

In this role, you will manage routine bookkeeping tasks, assist with accounts payable and receivable, and provide general accounting support to ensure financial records remain accurate and up to date. This role is ideal for someone organised, reliable, and comfortable working independently in a remote setup.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks and ensure accurate record-keeping
  • Support accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes
  • Process invoices, payments, and financial transactions accurately
  • Reconcile records and identify discrepancies where necessary
  • Assist with general accounting support and administrative finance tasks
  • Maintain organised and up-to-date financial documentation
  • Assist in preparing reports and summaries for internal review
  • Ensure all bookkeeping records are accurate and current

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting support roles
  • Solid understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Experience handling daily bookkeeping tasks and financial records
  • Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or similar accounting software
  • Comfortable using Excel or Google Sheets for financial tracking
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills

Work Arrangement & Expectations:

This is a remote role that may be set up as either an independent contractor engagement or via an Employer of Record (EOR), depending on client preferences and legal structure.

To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Be available for meetings and collaboration during core [AEST or PHT] business hours
  • Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
  • Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor” if not employed via EOR)
